The second round of the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League continues on Monday the 28th of September with a pair of Group 1 fixtures on the programme. Belgium welcome France before Turkiye host Italy. Belgium and France won their opening matches on Friday, while Turkiye and Italy are looking for their first points. We look at both fixtures from a betting angle below.

Belgium began their campaign with a 2-0 victory away to Italy. Mika Godts opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Dodi Lukebakio added a second in the 69th, giving Belgium three points and a clean sheet in their Group 1 opener.
They now return home at the top of the group on goal difference. Beating Italy away was an impressive start, although France’s recent record against them makes this a demanding follow-up fixture.
France also kicked things off with an away victory, beating Turkey 1-0. Kylian Mbappe scored the only goal in the 54th minute and thereafter the French outfit remained stable at the back to pick up the win.
The narrow scoreline suggests they may need a stronger attacking display against Belgium. Their defensive performance in Turkey nevertheless gives them a solid foundation for another difficult away match.
Head-to-Head
France have won five of the last six meetings between the nations, while Belgium have claimed one victory.
France won both meetings in the 2024/25 Nations League, defeating Belgium 2-0 at home and 2-1 away. Belgium’s last victory in this matchup came in a 4-3 friendly win in 2015.
Match Odds (1X2)
Belgium: 3.50
Draw: 4.00
France: 2.00
Verdict
Both sides arrive with three points and a clean sheet but France have had the better of this fixture in recent years. Belgium’s win in Italy shows they are capable of troubling strong opposition and home advantage should make this competitive. France have won the last five meetings, though, and I am backing them to extend that run.

Turkiye vs Italy – click here to bet
Turkiye began their 2026/27 Nations League run with a 1-0 home defeat to France. They kept the score level until just after half time when France struck and they were unable to find an equaliser.
A second consecutive home fixture gives Turkiye an immediate chance to respond. They will need to offer more going forward after failing to score in their opener, particularly against another side eager to recover from defeat.
Italy started their campaign with a 2-0 home loss to Belgium. They conceded in the 20th minute and were unable to get back into the contest before Belgium added a second goal after the break.
Italy now travel to Turkiye with neither a point nor a goal from their first match. A better defensive display will be important although their record against Turkiye offers some encouragement.
Head-to-Head
Italy are unbeaten in the last six meetings between the nations, winning three and drawing three.
Their most recent encounter ended 0-0 in a 2024 friendly. Italy won the previous two meetings, beating Turkiye 3-2 in 2022 and 3-0 at the Euro in 2020.
Match Odds (1X2)
Turkiye: 2.70
Draw: 3.50
Italy: 2.60
Verdict
Both teams need a response after losing without scoring on Friday. Turkiye have their fans behind them and pushed France close, while Italy will be determined to improve after their defeat to Belgium. The odds suggest a tight contest but Italy’s unbeaten record in this matchup has me leaning to the visitors taking all three points.
BET: Italy to Win at 2.60
