Although the PGA Tour season is quickly coming to a close with just the Tour Championship remaining after this weekend, the DP World Tour still has plenty of golf left in it this year. There are several months of tournaments still to come, with the Race to Dubai standings very much up for grabs, so this is the perfect stretch for players to grab valuable points and push up the rankings before the end of the season.
The Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links in Scotland offers a huge opportunity to do exactly that this week, and Patrick Reed heads the market as the current Race to Dubai leader.
Course
Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire is one of the most spectacular links venues in the world. Set on the rugged Scottish coastline, the course weaves its way through some of the tallest sand dunes in the country and offers a genuinely unique test of golf. It is a proper links layout, meaning firm and fast fairways, thick fescue rough that punishes anything wayward, and greens that demand imagination and touch to negotiate. The winning score last year at the inaugural edition was a modest -8, which just shows how tough this course can play when the wind picks up.
As with any true links test, driving accuracy and a sharp short game are going to be absolutely crucial this week. The Scottish coastal weather is often a huge factor too, with wind and rain capable of turning the course into an entirely different beast within the space of a few holes. Players who can flight the ball low, scramble effectively and stay patient through the tougher stretches typically find themselves in the mix come Sunday afternoon. Course experience and comfort in links conditions will also count for a lot at a venue as demanding as this one.

Reed returns to the DP World Tour after a break and will be looking to make a statement as we head towards the tail end of the season. He currently leads the Race to Dubai after playing 13 tournaments this year, and already has two wins under his belt in that stretch, one at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic and the other at the Qatar Masters. He will fancy his chances of grabbing another this week and extend his lead at the top of the standings, and at 11.00 as the class of the field, he looks a very fair price to do exactly that.

Jacob Skov Olesen at 15.00
Olesen has produced some very solid results in his last two starts. He put in a strong shift at the Corales Puntacana Championship, where he finished in 6th place, and followed it up with a 9th at his home open last weekend, the Danish Golf Championship. There are not many players on the DP World Tour in top form right now, however Olesen is one of the only players who has managed to string back-to-back top-10 finishes together heading into this week. At 15.00 for a player who is clearly hitting his stride at the perfect time, we like him as a really strong each-way pick.

Ewen Ferguson at 21.00
In the first edition of the tournament last year, we saw a Scotsman, Grant Forrest, win the title in his home country. Could we see the same story play out again this year? If there is any Scotsman in the field who stands a real chance of doing it, it is Ewen Ferguson. Ferguson is coming off the back of a brilliant 9th place finish last week in Denmark, and he will be looking for another solid result in front of his home crowd this week. At 21.00, he offers value as an each-way play at a course that should suit his game.

Pablo Ereno at 67.00
After putting up 3 players towards the top of the betting, my 4th and final play was always going to be at a bigger price.
Ereno was 27th here in 2025 and he has had 2 top 10’s either side of a missed cut in his last 3 starts and the 22 year old Spaniard is very much on my watch list.
