LEEDS vs BURNLEY
Leeds United occupy 15th position on the table with 40 points from 34 matches and while not mathematically safe from relegation, 40 points is generally considered the point at which you can start breathing easier.
They have recorded nine wins, thirteen draws and twelve defeats while scoring 44 goals and conceding 51, indicating a side that has been competitive but has struggled defensively.
Their recent form has been encouraging. They played out a 2-2 draw away to Bournemouth in their latest outing, while prior to that they secured an impressive 3-0 home win over Wolves and a notable 2-1 away victory against Manchester United. They also registered back-to-back goalless draws against Brentford and Crystal Palace, showing improved defensive organisation.
Burnley sit 19th on the table with just 20 points from 34 fixtures and they are certainties for the drop. They have managed only four wins this campaign, while settling for eight draws and suffering twenty-two defeats. In this period, they have found the net 34 times while letting in double that amount.
Their recent performances have been poor. They come into this clash after a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City and prior to that suffered a heavy 4-1 loss away to Nottingham Forest. Losses to Brighton and Fulham further underline their struggles, with their only point in recent matches coming from a goalless draw against Bournemouth over a month ago.
Head-to-Head
Recent meetings between the sides show a slight edge for Burnley overall. The last time the sides met Burney picked up a 2-0 victory earlier this season and a 1-0 away win in September 2024, while Leeds’ last notable win in this fixture came during the 2021/2022 Premier League campaign when they secured a convincing 3-1 home victory.

Verdict
Leeds come into this fixture in far stronger form and have shown resilience in recent weeks, particularly with their ability to pick up results against higher quality opposition. Their attacking form combined with an improved defence gives them a clear advantage here and justifies the short price.
Burnley continue to struggle across all areas of the pitch. Their defensive frailties and lack of consistency make it difficult to see them troubling a Leeds side that has found some momentum.
I think Leeds win this in what should be an entertaining game and having scored in their last 2 away games I fancy Burnley can contribute with a goal.
Some betting angles I like here include
- Leeds to Win at 1.44 – too short for a straight win bet for me but worth throwing into your Friday accumulator
- Correct score 3-1 at 13.00
- Match Result and Both Teams to Score, Leeds and YES at 3.25
- Match Result and Over/Under 2.5 goals, Leeds and YES at 2.15
- Leeds over 2.5 goals at 2.50
BET: Match Result and Both Teams to Score, Leeds and YES at 3.25
