FRIDAY
Sharks v Cardiff Blues – Click here to bet
The Sharks are in excellent home form. Last weekend they hammered Munster 45–0 at Kings Park, their best result of the season. They also beat the Stormers 36–24 at home in January. Their losses have both come away, 41–12 to the Bulls and 34–22 to the Lions.
Cardiff have won just twice in their last five, both at home against Leinster 8–7 and Benetton 17–8. On the road they have been very poor, losing 40–7 to the Bulls last weekend, 21–14 away to Ulster and 31–0 away to Exeter in the Champions Cup.
Head-to-Head
The head-to-head record is closer than the odds suggest. Cardiff won away at Kings Park in their last URC visit 14–36 in May 2024 and also won 0–35 in Durban in 2022. The Sharks’ only recent win came away in Cardiff in January 2025, 22–42. However, this Cardiff side are far weaker on the road than in previous seasons.
Betting
The Sharks are 1.04 to win, Cardiff at 14.00, the draw 51.00. The handicap is Sharks [−20.5] at 1.95.
Verdict
Cardiff have been beaten by 33, 21 and 31 points in their last three away matches. The Sharks are at home off the back of a 45-point win and should cover this comfortably.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Sharks [−20.5] at 1.95.

SATURDAY
Vodacom Bulls v Munster – Click here to bet
The Bulls have been one of the most impressive sides in the competition in recent weeks. At Loftus they beat Cardiff 40–7 last weekend and the Sharks 41–12 in February. Away from home they beat the Lions 52–17 in Johannesburg and Edinburgh 19–17 away. Their only Loftus loss was against the Stormers 19–32 a fortnight ago.
Munster come in off a humiliating 45–0 loss away to the Sharks. Before that they beat Zebre 21–7 at home but have lost away to Glasgow 22–31 and dropped a home match to Castres 29–31.
Head-to-Head
The recent head-to-head record is evenly split. The Bulls won away in Limerick in April 2025, 16–13, but Munster won away at Loftus in April 2024, 27–22. The Bulls also won at home in March 2022, 29–24 while Munster won at home in October 2022, 31–17. Form and altitude are firmly in the Bulls favour this weekend.
Betting
The Bulls are at 1.16 to win, Munster at 6.00 and the draw 34.00. The handicap is Bulls [−13.5] at 1.93.
Verdict
The Bulls at Loftus have been scoring heavily and Munster are travelling to altitude off the back of a 45-point loss. A winning margin of more than 13 points is a realistic outcome even though this will be a stronger Munster side.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Bulls [−13.5] at 1.93.
Lions v Dragons – Click here to bet
The Lions have been in superb home form. In their last three matches at Ellis Park, they beat Edinburgh 54–17 last weekend, the Stormers 24–10 in February and the Sharks 34–22 in February. Away from home they drew 24–24 against the Ospreys. Their only home loss this season was a heavy 17–52 defeat to the Bulls in January.
The Dragons are one of the weakest sides in the competition. They have not won a URC match in their last four outings, losing away to the Stormers 21–29 (which was well within the 29 point handicap), the Ospreys 13–19 and Munster 20–22. They drew 15–15 at home to Benetton.
Head-to-Head
The Lions have completely dominated this fixture in recent years, winning their last four meetings. They beat the Dragons 60–10 at home in January 2025, 49–24 at home in December 2023, and won away in Cardiff too, 23–19 in October 2024 and 30–25 in January 2023. The Dragons have not beaten the Lions in any recent meeting.
Betting
The Lions are 1.05 to win, Dragons at 13.00 and the draw is 51.00. The handicap is Lions [−19.5] at 1.95.
Verdict
The Lions are at home in brilliant form against a side that cannot win away from Wales. They beat the Dragons by 50 points the last time they hosted them and I am expecting more of the same.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Lions [−19.5] at 1.95.
Stormers v Edinburgh Rugby – Click here to bet
The Stormers are in good form. Last weekend they beat the Dragons 29–21 at DHL Stadium and a fortnight ago they won away at Loftus against the Bulls 32–19, one of the results of the season. Before that they had lost away to the Lions 10–24 and away to the Sharks twice. Their home form has been solid throughout the campaign.
Edinburgh are in very poor shape. They have lost four of their last five matches, including a 17–54 hammering away to the Lions last weekend and a 19–40 home loss to Ulster the week before. Their only win in that run was a narrow 24–19 home win over the Scarlets. Away from Edinburgh they have been terrible all season.
Head-to-Head
The Stormers have a strong record against Edinburgh at DHL Stadium. They won 43–21 at home in March 2024, 34–18 at home in October 2022, and 28–17 at home in June 2022. Edinburgh’s only recent win in this fixture came away in Edinburgh in October 2024, 38–7, which was a one-off result on their own ground.
Betting
The Stormers are 1.05 to win, Edinburgh at 13.00 and the draw 51.00. The handicap is Stormers [−19.5] at 1.935.
Verdict
Edinburgh are in poor shape on the road and the Stormers have won their last three home meetings against them by margins of 22, 16 and 11 points. Those past results don’t make a solid case for the minus but given Edinburgh’s form I like the Stormers by 20+.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Stormers [−19.5] at 1.93.
