SATURDAY:
ESPANYOL vs GETAFE
Espanyol currently sit 8th on the standings with 37 points from 28 matches. Their campaign has been fairly inconsistent with the side scoring 35 goals while conceding 42 across the season.
They come into this clash struggling for momentum after a 2-1 defeat to Mallorca last weekend. Prior to that they played out a 1-1 draw with Oviedo, a 2-2 stalemate with Elche, and suffered a 4-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Getafe occupy 9th place on the table with 35 points and have shown flashes of quality in recent weeks. Their defensive structure has been solid, conceding just 30 goals so far this campaign although their attack has lacked flair finding the back of the net just 23 times.
They enter this encounter following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid, which came after an impressive 2-0 victory over Betis and a shock 1-0 away win against Real Madrid.
Head-to-Head
Espanyol secured a 1-0 away win earlier this season, while they also won 1-0 at home last season.

Espanyol 2.45
Draw 3.00
Getafe 3.40
Verdict
With both sides closely matched and recent meetings producing low-scoring outcomes, this looks likely to be a tight contest. Getafe’s defensive discipline combined with Espanyol’s inconsistency suggests limited goal action, despite that I do believe that Getafe have what it takes to edge this based on their improvement in recent weeks.
BET: Getafe to win at 3.40
SUNDAY:
BARCELONA vs RAYO VALLECANO
Barcelona lead the LaLiga standings with 70 points from 28 games and have been the standout side from the get-go this season. Their attack has been exceptional, netting 77 goals while they have let just 28 breach their defence.
They come into this match in excellent form after a dominant 5-2 victory over Sevilla a week ago. That result followed a 1-0 away win at Athletic Bilbao, a 4-1 triumph over Villarreal and a 3-0 victory against Levante.
Rayo Vallecano sit 13th in the rankings on 32 points and have struggled to convert draws into wins across their campaign. Their attacking output stands at 28 goals, while they have conceded 34.
They arrive on the back of a 1-1 draw with Levante, which came after another 1-1 stalemate against Sevilla. Prior to that they recorded a solid 3-0 win over Oviedo but have drawn several matches in the past month.
Head-to-Head
Earlier this season the sides played out a 1-1 draw, although Barcelona won both meetings in the previous campaign with 1-0 and 2-1 scorelines.

Barcelona 1.25
Draw 7.00
Rayo Vallecano 10.00
Verdict
Barcelona’s attacking strength and dominant home form should see them control proceedings. While Rayo have been competitive in this matchup, their tendency to draw games should not hold against the league leaders and I would not be surprised to see the goals flow as they did in midweek against Newcastle in the Champions League.
BET: Barcelona to Win and Over 3.5 Goals at 2.20

REAL MADRID vs ATLETICO MADRID
Real Madrid sit 2nd on the leaderboard tallying in at 66 points and remain in the battle to lift the trophy. Their frontline has produced 60 goals, while their defence has conceded just 24 leaving them on a solid goal difference.
They bring confidence into this fixture after a convincing 4-1 win over Elche, which followed a 2-1 victory away at Celta Vigo. However, they did suffer a surprise 1-0 home defeat to Getafe and a 2-1 loss to Osasuna prior to that.
Atletico Madrid are 3rd overall with 57 points and have been solid throughout the campaign, scoring 47 goals and letting only 25 slip.
They come into this fixture in strong form after a 1-0 win over Getafe, which followed a 3-2 victory against Real Sociedad and a 1-0 away success at Oviedo and they have not lost since mid-February.
Head-to-Head
They met earlier this season where Atletico recorded a 5-2 win, while Real Madrid won 2-1 in the Super Cup in January. The encounters between the teams were well matched last term with Real Madrid winning the first leg 2-1 at home and the reverse fixture concluded in a 1-1 draw.

Real Madrid 1.95
Draw 3.85
Atletico Madrid 3.65
Verdict
The Madrid derby is typically a tight and tactical affair, with both teams well organised defensively. Given their recent history and the stakes involved, this could be another closely fought encounter but with Real Madrid back to winning ways I am backing them to secure the win.
BET: Real Madrid to Win at 1.95
