Their recent results have been inconsistent. They suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Golden Arrows in their latest match, though they previously secured an encouraging 3-1 away victory against Chippa United. Prior to that they lost 1-0 to Durban City and were heavily beaten 3-0 by Orlando Pirates.

While Gallants did manage a surprise 1-0 cup victory earlier this season, Sundowns have still produced several commanding results in this fixture including a 4-1 and 3-1 triumph in last seasons, league encounters.

Verdict:
Sundowns arrive in outstanding form and remain one of the most complete teams in the league. Gallants have struggled defensively throughout the campaign and have found it difficult against top opposition. With home advantage and greater quality across the squad, I think the hosts should control the contest.

Before that they held Chippa United to a goalless stalemate, beat Magesi 2-0 on the road and shared an entertaining 2-2 draw with Richards Bay.
Stellenbosch sit 10th overall with 24 points from 20 fixtures. Their campaign has consisted of six wins, six draws and eight defeats, while they have found the net 16 times and conceded 21. Although their scoring numbers are modest, they have proven difficult to beat on several occasions.
Their latest performances reflect a competitive side. They played out a 1-1 draw with TS Galaxy in their most recent fixture following a goalless result away to Siwelele. Before that they recorded an impressive 2-1 away win over Kaizer Chiefs and edged AmaZulu 1-0 at home.

Stellenbosch claimed a dramatic 4-3 win earlier this season in the league, while Golden Arrows responded by winning 1-0 in the Nedbank Cup. Both sides have also recorded convincing victories against one another in recent seasons.
