MANCHESTER UNITED vs ASTON VILLA
Manchester United are 3rd on the table with 51 points from 29 outings and remain in contention for Champions League promotion. Their recent run has been solid overall, although they did slip to a 2-1 defeat away at Newcastle in their latest clash. Before that they claimed a 2-1 home victory over Crystal Palace and secured a narrow 1-0 success on the road against Everton.
United have produced 51 goals this season while allowing 40 in at the other end, reflecting a team that carries plenty of attacking threat but can still be exposed defensively at times.
Aston Villa occupy 4th place on the standings with 51 points from 29 games, sitting level with United and also pushing for a top four finish. Their recent performances have dipped slightly, and they were heavily beaten 4-1 at home by Chelsea last time out after suffering a surprising 2-0 defeat away at Wolves. Prior to those setbacks they were held to a 1-1 stalemate with Leeds but did register a 1-0 victory against Brighton earlier in February.
Villa have accumulated 39 goals this campaign while seeing 34 go past their goalkeeper, suggesting a side that has generally been competitive but occasionally lacked cutting edge.
Head-to-Head
These sides last met in December where Aston Villa claimed a 2-1 victory on home soil. Prior to that they clashed twice last season where the first game ended level and the second was won 2-0 by United at Old Trafford.

Manchester United 1.77
Draw 4.00
Aston Villa 4.50
Verdict
Both sides are level on points and pushing for the same objective which should make this a competitive encounter. Manchester United’s home advantage and slightly stronger attacking output could give them an advantage, although Villa are capable of creating chances of their own.
I am backing United to win an entertaining game.

LIVERPOOL vs TOTTENHAM
Liverpool are 6th in the rankings on 48 points after 29 matches played and continue their push for European qualification. Their latest run has been mixed but generally positive. They defeated West Ham 5-2 at Anfield after edging Nottingham 1-0 away and also claimed a narrow 1-0 victory at Sunderland. However, they did fall to a 2-1 defeat against Wolves in their most recent test.
Liverpool have scored 48 goals so far while shipping 39, underlining a team capable of producing plenty going forward but one that occasionally leaves space at the back.
Tottenham are 16th on the table with 29 points from 29 fixtures and find themselves dangerously close to the relegation battle. Their recent form has been concerning with four consecutive defeats. They lost 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace in their latest match and had previously been beaten 2-1 by Fulham. Heavy defeats to Arsenal and Newcastle prior to this further underline their struggles in the last few weeks.
Spurs have managed to put together 39 goals across the campaign but have conceded 46 leaving them with one of the weaker defensive records.
Both sides lost in European competition in midweek.
Head-to-Head
Liverpool have dominated the recent meetings between the two clubs, winning several of the previous encounters including a 2-1 triumph on the road earlier this season and a commanding 5-1 triumph at Anfield to end off the 2024/25 term.

Liverpool 1.33

Tottenham 8.00
Verdict
Liverpool’s attacking quality and strong record in this fixture should makes them rightful favourites here. Tottenham’s recent defensive struggles and inability to get into the winning column make it difficult to see them keeping the hosts quiet for long periods, especially at Anfield where Liverpool are very dangerous going forward.
