SUNDERLAND vs BRIGHTON
Sunderland are 11th on the table with 40 points from 29 matches. Their recent form has been somewhat inconsistent, though they come into this clash on the back of a 1-0 away victory over Leeds. Prior to that they played out a 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth but had suffered three defeats in the matches before, including a 3-1 home loss to Fulham.
Sunderland have managed 30 goals this season while conceding 34, suggesting a competitive side that has often struggled for attacking consistency.
Brighton occupy 14th position overall with 37 points from 29 games. Their recent run has been mixed as well but they have picked up notable victories including a 2-0 win away at Brentford and a 2-1 home success against Nottingham in recent weeks. Despite that they were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal last time out.
Brighton have scored 38 goals while slipping 36 at the back, reflecting a fairly balanced campaign. On their travels they have proven capable of finding the net and troubling opposition defences.
Head-to-Head
Their most recent meeting in December ended in a goalless stalemate, while previous matches between the sides have been close and competitive.

Sunderland 3.40
Draw 3.40
Brighton 2.25
Verdict
This encounter looks competitive with both sides sitting close together in the standings. Sunderland’s home advantage could play a role, but Brighton have shown slightly better attacking quality. I expect an open contest with opportunities at both ends.

ARSENAL vs EVERTON
Arsenal sit top of the standings with 67 points from 30 matches and remain firmly on course in the title race. They are unbeaten in their last five league outings, winning three and drawing two. Their latest match saw them secure a 1-0 victory away over Brighton after earlier wins over Chelsea and Tottenham.
Arsenal have netted 59 goals this season while allowing just 22 past their keeper, giving them the best defensive record in the league alongside one of the strongest attacks.
Everton are currently 8th on the table with 43 points from 29 games. Their form has improved recently with back-to-back wins including a 2-0 home success against Burnley and an impressive 3-2 away victory over Newcastle before that. However, they had suffered defeats to Manchester United and Bournemouth prior to that.
Everton have registered 34 goals while conceding 33, suggesting a side capable of competing but one that has struggled to build any significant momentum across the campaign.
Head-to-Head
Arsenal have had the better of this matchup in recent seasons, winning several of the recent encounters including a 1-0 victory away earlier in the campaign. Everton have managed draws in a couple of the recent meetings which indicates they can make things difficult.

Arsenal 1.38
Draw 5.00
Everton 8.50
Verdict
Arsenal’s consistency and home ground advantage make them strong favourites here. Everton are capable of causing problems and may find the back of the net but over the course of the match the hosts attacking quality and structure should get the better of them.

WEST HAM vs MANCHESTER CITY
West Ham are 18th in the standings with 28 points from 29 matches and remain in the relegation zone. Their recent form has been mixed but they did secure a notable 1-0 away victory over Fulham in their latest test. Prior to that they suffered a heavy 5-2 defeat against Liverpool but also picked up a point in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.
West Ham have found the back of the net 35 times but conceded 54, one of the weakest defensive records in the league.
Manchester City sit 2nd on the table with 60 points from 29 games and remain in pursuit of the league leaders. Their recent run has been strong with wins over Leeds, Newcastle, Fulham and Liverpool, although they were held to a 2-2 draw by Nottingham in their most recent match.
City have scored 59 goals and shipped 27, underlining their strength at both ends of the pitch and discipline on attack.
Head-to-Head
Manchester City have dominated this fixture in recent years, winning the vast majority of their meetings with West Ham including a 3-0 victory earlier this season and two heavy beatings last season for West Ham.

West Ham 4.50
Draw 4.25
Manchester City 1.69
Verdict
Given City’s attacking depth and West Ham’s defensive struggles, the visitors should control large periods of this contest. While West Ham can be dangerous on the counter, City’s overall form should ultimately prevail and I am backing them to win an entertaining match.
