West Ham booked their passage to the Round of 16 thanks to a 2-1 home extra time win over QPR and they also required extra time in their 4th round match with a 95th minute win away to Burton after the teams had finished 0-0 in 90 minutes.
The Hammers are currently 18th in the English Premier League and involved in a relegation dog-fight but they bring some momentum into this clash having beaten Fulham 1-0 on the road in their last EPL start and they have only lost 2 of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
Brentford have had a relatively trouble-free run to the Round of 16, beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 on the road in the 3rd round and following that up with a 1-0 away win over Macclesfield in Round 4.
Brentford are going well in the English Premier League and currently sit in 7th position, and they are coming off a goalless draw away to Bournemouth and they have only lost 3 of their last 10 matches in all competitions.

Verdict
As the betting suggests there is not much between these sides, and of the pair, Brentford’ s comfortable League position might mean they are more focused on a Cup run. I don’ t see much in this one though and I think we could be in for a cagey affair with the 90 minute draw a big runner.
