The Nedbank Cup reaches the quarter-final stage this weekend, with eight teams still dreaming of lifting South Africa’s most prestigious knockout trophy. Four exciting clashes are scheduled across Saturday and Sunday as the race for the semi-final spots heats up. We take a closer look at each quarter-final from a betting perspective.
The competition remains a straight knockout format, meaning the winner must be decided on the day. Should the score remain level after 90 minutes, extra time and penalties will determine who advances.

AMAZULU vs CASRIC STARS – click here to bet
Saturday, 7 March – 15:00
AmaZulu booked their place in the quarterfinals with two impressive away victories. They first edged Polokwane City 2-1 after extra time before following that up with a strong 1-0 win over Richards Bay. Their defensive structure has been a standout feature, while they have shown clinical finishing in key moments.
Casric Stars who sit 4th in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, have been one of the biggest surprises in this year’s competition. They beat Black Leopards 1-0 and defeated Army Rocket 3-0 on the road in the early stages before stunning Orlando Pirates on penalties in the Round of 16.
Head-to-Head:
These sides have never met in a competitive match before, making this their first-ever encounter.
Odds: AmaZulu 1.40 | Draw 4.00 | Casric Stars 7.00
Verdict:
Casric Stars have already pulled off a massive upset in this tournament but AmaZulu’s top-flight quality and strong defensive structure should give them the edge here.
BET: AmaZulu should win but I am going to bet that they win without conceding when those markets are out.
SEKHUKHUNE vs MILFORD FC – click here to bet
Saturday, 7 March – 18:00
Sekhukhune United have progressed through the competition with two hard-fought victories. They secured a narrow 1-0 win away over Highbury before repeating the same scoreline against the University of Pretoria to seal their quarter-final shot.
Milford FC sit top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship and have impressed during their route to the last eight. They started with a solid 2-0 victory over Baroka before defeating SSU M-17 on penalties the road. Their most recent outing saw them produce a convincing 3-0 home win over KZN ABC Motsepe League team, Mkhambathi.
Head-to-Head:
The teams met in last season’s Nedbank Cup where Sekhukhune claimed a 2-1 victory over Milford despite playing away from home.
Odds: Sekhukhune 1.50 | Draw 3.50 | Milford 6.50

Milford have shown plenty of promise but Sekhukhune’s experience and defensive discipline in knockout football should see them through.

TS GALAXY vs JACKSA SPEARS – click here to bet
Sunday, 8 March – 15:00
TS Galaxy have arguably produced one of the most impressive runs to the quarterfinals. They began with a narrow 1-0 extra-time home victory over Marumo Gallants before pulling off a major upset by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 on home soil in the Round of 16.
Jacksa Spears play their trade in the SAFA 2nd division and have also enjoyed a memorable campaign so far. They defeated Cardinals 4-2 in extra-time in an entertaining match away from home before edging Vasco Da Gama 1-0 at home to reach this stage of the competition. The underdogs have shown plenty of character and will take confidence into this matchup.
Head-to-Head:
This will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides.
Odds: TS Galaxy 1.20 | Draw 5.50 | Jacksa Spears 11.00
Verdict:
TS Galaxy’s victory over Sundowns highlighted their quality and attacking flair. Against a lower-division opponent, they should do enough to progress comfortably.
BET: TS Galaxy to Win and I will wait for the Asian handicap markets and back them to win by more than a goal.
Update: TS Galaxy -1.5 goals on the Asian Handicap is 1.95
