UFC Fight Night takes place at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico on Saturday the 28th of February (early hours of Sunday in South Africa) with a flyweight bout headlining the event as Brandon Moreno faces Lone’er Kavanagh. BRANDON MORENO vs LONE’ER KAVANAGH
Flyweight – Main Event:
Brandon Moreno steps into this headline bout holding a UFC record of 11 wins, 6 losses and 2 draws. The Mexican former champion is a well-rounded operator with sharp boxing, slick submissions and five-round experience against elite opposition.
Moreno last fought in December 2025, suffering a second-round knockout defeat to Tatsuro Taira. Prior to that, he earned back-to-back unanimous decision wins over Steve Erceg and Amir Albazi, showing his ability to control high-level contests over championship distance.
Lone’er Kavanagh arrives with a UFC record of 2 wins and 1 loss. The Englishman is an explosive striker who throws with intent and has shown confidence early in fights. Although he relies on striking, he has enough in the tank to go the distance and both of his wins within the organisation have come via decision.
Kavanagh last competed in August 2025, losing by second-round knockout to Charles Johnson but before that setback he secured consecutive unanimous decision victories over Felipe dos Santos and Jose Ochoa, demonstrating composure across three rounds.

PREDICTION:
Moreno’s experience at the highest level and ability to mix striking with grappling should prove decisive. Kavanagh is dangerous early, but over five rounds the Mexican’s pace and versatility are likely to tell. I am expecting Moreno to secure a clear decision victory.

MARLON VERA vs DAVID MARTINEZ
Bantamweight – Co-Main Event:
Marlon Vera enters this fight with tons of experience having fought 25 times of which he has won 15 and lost 10. The Ecuadorian is a durable and technical striker with a proven finishing ability and strong game when the fight hits the mat.
He last fought in October 2025, losing a split decision to Aiemann Zahabi. He has faced solid competition in recent years, including Sean O’Malley and Cory Sandhagen and holds notable wins over Dominick Cruz and Rob Font, however, he has lost his last three fights in a row.
David Martinez steps into the octagon with a tally of 2 wins without a loss under the institution. The Mexican prospect is a composed striker who is capable of finishing the fight by knockout due to his heavy hitting hands and confidence under pressure.
Martinez most recently defeated Rob Font by unanimous decision in September 2025, backing up a first-round knockout win over Saimon Oliveira in March 2025 to get his career going.

PREDICTION:
Martinez is a rising talent, but Vera’s experience against elite opposition and durability will ensure this is no easy fight for Martinez. I am expecting Martinez to weather early exchanges and take control as the fight progresses to pick up a decision victory.
DANIEL ZELLHUBER vs KING GREEN
Lightweight – Main Card Bout:
Daniel Zellhuber comes into this clash with a record of 3 wins and 3 losses inside the UFC. The Mexican lightweight is a tall, technical striker who uses his range well but has struggled for consistency across his last few appearances.
Zellhuber last competed in July 2025, losing a unanimous decision to Michael Johnson. Prior to that he suffered a split decision loss to Esteban Ribovics but had won three fights in a row before that defeat.
King Green holds experience dating back to 2013 and in this time the American veteran has fought 28 times, winning 14 and losing 12 with one no contest and one draw. He is a slick boxer with sharp counter-striking and vast exposure against top-tier competition.
He last fought in December 2025, earning a split decision win over Lance Gibson Jr. Before that he lost two fights to the likes of Paddy Pimblett and Mauricio Ruffy.

PREDICTION:
Zellhuber’s youth and reach could pose problems, but Green’s experience and defensive boxing should allow him to control the tempo for periods of the fight. I am expecting Zellhuber to edge this one on the scorecards thoiugh.
