ASTON VILLA vs LEEDS
Aston Villa sit 3rd on the table with 50 points from 26 matches and continue to push for Champions League promotion. They have battled to stay in the winning column across their last five league outings of which they have won two, lost two and drawn one. Their last fixture took place just over a week ago where they beat Brighton 1-0 at home.
Villa have scored 37 goals while conceding 27, highlighting a well-balanced side capable of grinding out results. At home they have generally been reliable and will be confident coming into this clash.
Leeds are 15th with 30 points from 26 matches and remain in a battle to steer clear of the relegation zone. They showed resilience in a 2-2 draw away to Chelsea and claimed a 3-1 home win over Nottingham prior to that but heavy defeats such as the 4-0 loss to Arsenal underline their inconsistency.
Leeds have let 45 goals past the keeper this season, one of the weaker defensive records in the division and their away form has been poor, losing seven of their 13 clashes while drawing five and winning just once.
Head-to-Head
Villa have dominated recent meetings, winning the reverse fixture 2-1 away earlier this season. They are unbeaten in their last five clashes across all competitions, claiming four wins and settling for a draw.

Aston Villa 1.83
Draw 3.65
Leeds 4.25
Verdict
Villa’s home advantage should prove decisive. Leeds are capable of scoring, but their defensive frailties could be exposed by a well-drilled Villa outfit who have been solid in front of goal throughout the campaign.
BET: Result and Both Teams to Score – Aston Villa and Yes at 3.85
CHELSEA vs BURNLEY
Chelsea occupy 5th position overall with 44 points from 26 matches and have been on a solid run of form. They are unbeaten in their last five trips to the pitch winning four of these games, including a 3-1 away win at Wolves and a 3-2 triumph over West Ham. The last time they played was on the 10th where they drew 2-2 with Leeds on home soil.
Chelsea have scored 47 goals and let 30 shots in at the back, boasting one of the stronger attacking records in the division. At home they have been particularly efficient against lower ranked opposition.
Burnley are 19th with just 18 points from 26 matches and have struggled throughout the campaign. Although they secured an impressive 3-2 away win over Crystal Palace recently, they have let 51 goals slip this season and remain vulnerable across their defensive line.
Their last five league meetings have reflected ongoing inconsistency having won one, lost two and drawn two of these encounters. Notably they have won just two of their 13 away matches.
Head-to-Head
The last time these sides met was earlier this season where Chelsea won the fixture 2-0 on the road. Prior to this they met twice last season where the first encounter was won 4-1 by Chelsea and the second game was drawn 2-2.

Chelsea 1.22
Draw 6.75
Burnley 12.00
Verdict
Given the gulf in class and league position, this should be a straightforward assignment for Chelsea. Burnley’s defensive issues are likely to be exposed by the hosts’ attack and I am expecting a one-sided affair.
BET: Asian Handicap Chelsea -2.5 goals at 2.50

MANCHESTER CITY vs NEWCASTLE UTD
Manchester City are 2nd on the table with 53 points from 26 matches and remain hot on the heels of the leaders. They come into this clash in strong form, having beaten Fulham 3-0 and Liverpool 2-1 in recent outings.
City have netted 54 goals and conceded just 24, underlining their strength at both ends of the pitch and at home they are typically dominant, controlling possession for long periods.
Newcastle sit 10th on the log on 36 points and have battled to build momentum throughout their 26 games played. While they claimed a solid 2-1 win away over Tottenham, they have also suffered heavy defeats to Liverpool and Brentford over the past few weeks.
They head into this fixture having won one of their last five games while suffering three defeats and settling for a stalemate.
Head-to-Head
The most recent meeting between the sides came in the EFL Cup in February where City won 3-1 to follow up their 2-0 victory away from home in the reverse fixture. They also clashed earlier in the league during November where Newcastle pulled off an upset to edge the contest 2-1 at home.

Manchester City 1.43
Draw 5.25
Newcastle Utd 6.50
Verdict
Manchester City’s current form and overall depth should see them take control of this encounter, dominating possession as they often do. Newcastle can pose a threat on the counter, but over 90 minutes City are likely to prove too strong, and I think they get the job done comfortably and narrow the gap at the top to 3 points.
BET: Result and Both Teams to Score – Manchester City and No at 2.90
