MANCHESTER CITY vs FULHAM
Manchester City sit 2nd on the table with 50 points and continue to hunt down league leaders Arsenal. City arrive after an excellent 2-1 victory away over Liverpool, which followed a 2-2 draw with Tottenham and a routine 2-0 home success over Wolves.
The side have scored 51 goals while conceding just 24, underlining their usual strength at both ends of the pitch and on home soil they remain a formidable force having won 9, drawn two and lost just once at the Etihad.
Fulham occupy 10th spot on the log with 34 points and have enjoyed a competitive campaign despite mixed recent results. They were edged 2-1 at home by Everton the last time they played, coming after a narrow 3-2 defeat at Manchester United. They had previously beaten Brighton 2-1 at Craven Cottage.
Fulham have scored 35 goals while letting in 37 at the back, indicating that Fulham are capable going forward but can be caught out defensively, particularly against the league’s top sides.
Head-to-Head
Earlier this season City triumphed 5-4 in a thriller on Fulham turf, while the previous encounter at the Etihad ended 3-2 in favour of the hosts. Goals have been a regular feature between these sides in recent meetings.

Manchester City 1.36
Draw 5.25
Fulham 7.50
Verdict
City look to be finding top gear at the right time and their attacking quality should prove too strong for Fulham. The visitors can contribute on the scoreboard but keeping City’s men quiet for 90 minutes looks unlikely. I am expecting an open contest with City winning with room to spare.

SUNDERLAND vs LIVERPOOL
Sunderland are 9th on the table with 36 points and have been struggling to stay in the winning column. They suffered a 3-0 defeat away to Arsenal when they clashed last weekend, which followed an impressive 3-0 home win over Burnley. Earlier results included a 3-1 loss against West Ham and a tight 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.
The team have shown they can compete at this level but consistency against the bigger sides remains a challenge, currently possessing a goal difference of -2.
Liverpool hold 6th place overall on 39 points and arrive with mixed recent form. The Reds were beaten 2-1 by Manchester City last weekend after a dominant 4-1 home win over Newcastle. Prior to that they lost a 3-2 clash on the road to Bournemouth.
The Liverpool side have battled to pick up wins away from home having played twelve matches of which they’ve won four, drawn three and lost five. Despite this they have manged to keep a positive goal difference with 40 for and 35 against.
Head-to-Head
The reverse fixture earlier this season finished 1-1 at Anfield. Before this they last met during the 2016/17 season where the second game was drawn 2-2 after Liverpool picked up a 2-0 home win in the first leg. Encounters between the sides often produce competitive affairs with Sunderland proving stubborn opposition at home.

Sunderland 4.50
Draw 3.75
Liverpool 1.77
Verdict
Sunderland will make life difficult on their own patch but Liverpool possess more firepower. The visitors should dominate possession and create enough chances to edge the contest, although the hosts are likely to have their moments on the break based on Liverpool’s poor defence.
