AmaZulu come into this clash sitting 6th on the table with 24 points from 14 matches. They have won seven, drawn three and lost four so far this season, scoring 15 goals while conceding 12.
Their recent form has been mixed, with three wins and two defeats in their last five outings.
They claimed a 1-0 away victory over Golden Arrows in their most recent match, although prior to that they suffered a 2-0 loss to Richards Bay on the road.
TS Galaxy currently find themselves 5th on the table with 24 points from 15 matches. They have won seven, drawn three and lost five while netting 20 goals and letting 13 past the keeper.
They have been in solid form of late, remaining unbeaten in their last 4 matches of which they have won two and drawn two.
Their most recent result saw them record a 2-0 home win over Marumo Gallants, while before that they held Kaizer Chiefs and Polokwane City to goalless draws and picked up a 2-1 win over Golden Arrows.
Head-to-Head:
Galaxy claimed a 3-1 home victory earlier this season in September and have also beaten AmaZulu in each of their last five league encounters.
Odds: AmaZulu 2.40 | Draw 3.00 | TS Galaxy 3.40
Verdict:
This is a closely matched contest between two sides level on points and in decent form. AmaZulu have been solid at home which gives them the slight advantage and with both teams generally involved in tight games, I believe this could be another low-scoring fixture.
Bet: Total Goals – Under 1.5 at 2.40
Durban City vs Polokwane City – click here to bet
Durban City sit 8th on the table with 22 points from 15 matches. They have won six, drawn four and lost five this season and hold an aggregate goal difference of 14 for, with 11 conceded.
Their most recent results have been somewhat inconsistent with two wins, one draw and two defeats in their last five trips to the pitch.
Their most recent match took place in December where they clashed with Orbit College and picked up a 3-0 triumph away from home.
Polokwane City occupy 7th place in the rankings with 23 points from 14 matches. They have won six, drawn five and lost three, while scoring 11 goals and letting in just 8 at the back.
They have been difficult to beat in recent weeks, losing only once in their last five matches.
Their latest result saw them claim a 2-1 away win over Stellenbosch in early december, while they also picked up a 1-0 victory over AmaZulu and held TS Galaxy and Richards Bay to draws during November.
Head-to-Head:
Durban City recorded a 4-1 home victory over Polokwane City in the Carling Knockout in October, while the reverse league fixture earlier this season ended in a goalless draw.
Odds: Durban City 2.25 | Draw 2.80 | Polokwane City 4.00
Verdict:
Both sides have been involved in several closely contested matches this season. Durban City’s home advantage and strong head-to-head record give them a slight edge, but Polokwane City’s defensive solidity makes this a tricky encounter to call. I am backing the draw.
Bet: Draw at 2.80
