Match 5 Preview
Sunrisers Eastern Cape made a huge statement in their opening match, crushing the Paarl Royals by 137 runs at Boland Park. Batting first, SEC posted 186/4, with Jordan Hermann leading the way with a blistering 62 not out off 28 balls. The bowlers then took over, dismissing the Royals for just 49, with Anrich Nortje tearing through the batting lineup on his way to 4/13. The scale of the victory earned SEC a valuable bonus point and immediately underlined their title credentials.
Pretoria Capitals, by contrast, endured a frustrating start to the tournament, going down by 22 runs to the Joburg Super Kings at Centurion. Chasing 169, the Capitals were restricted to 146/9, despite Bryce Parsons’ 41 off 30 balls at the top of the innings. Tymal Mills had been the pick of the PC bowlers with 2-17 off his 4 overs.
Returning home, Sunrisers Eastern Cape look settled, confident, and well balanced, while Pretoria face a tough test away from home knowing 2 defeats upfront will leave them a mountain to climb to make the playoffs.
Head to Head
The Sunrisers won this fixture by 52 runs last season bowling the Capitals out for under 100 but the Capitals can take heart from the fact they won the reverse fixture by 6 wickets in a low scoring encounter at Centurion.

Suggested Bets
Bet: Sunrisers Eastern Cape to Win @ 1.72
Based on current form and with home advantage at St George’s Park, SEC deserve favouritism. Their bowling attack in particular looks well suited to exploit Pretoria’s middle-order issues.
Bet: Top Sunrisers Eastern Cape Bowler – Anrich Nortje @4.75
Nortje was outstanding in Match 3 and remains a constant wicket-taking threat having returned from injury. Conditions in Gqeberha should once again play to his strengths.
Bet: Top Sunrisers Eastern Cape Batsman – Marco Jansen @7.00
Jansen has been in prolific form for the Proteas and SEC pushed him up the order in their opener. The tactic never paid dividends but if they do so again this price will look very juicy.
