Sunday’s Premier League action may feature just two fixtures, but both carry plenty of intrigue. The afternoon kicks off at the Stadium of Light, where an impressive Sunderland side look to extend their strong home form against a Leeds United team still searching for consistency on the road. Attention then shifts to South London for an all-capital clash at Selhurst Park, as Crystal Palace host Tottenham in a meeting between two sides eager to steady themselves after uneven recent runs. Here’s a closer look at both matches, along with a suggested bet for each.

Before we take a closer look at the fixtures, here’s a quick glance at the Premier League outright markets heading into the weekend where Arsenal remain clear favourites at 73/100, with Manchester City close behind at 6/4. Both Liverpool and Aston Villa sit at 25/1, while the rest of the field is priced at 40/1 or longer.

SUNDERLAND v LEEDS UNITED – Click here to bet

We head to the Stadium of Light on Sunday for the first of two fixtures, where Sunderland host Leeds United. Both sides are familiar from last season in the Championship, and this top-flight clash promises to be competitive. The Black Cats have embraced their Premier League return, sitting 6th with 27 points from 17 league matches after last week’s goalless draw at Brighton. Régis Le Bris’ side have lost just once in their last five league games, winning twice and drawing twice during that run.

At home, Sunderland have been particularly strong this season, remaining unbeaten in the league at the Stadium of Light. They’ve taken 18 points from a possible 24, scoring 15 goals and conceding seven. Their recent home form includes back-to-back wins, most notably a 3–2 victory over Bournemouth followed by a 1–0 success in the Tyne-Wear derby against Newcastle.

Leeds United travel north hoping to continue a resurgence that’s seen them go unbeaten in their last four league matches. Daniel Farke’s side sit 16th with 19 points from 17 games, entering this round off the back of a comprehensive 4–1 home win over Crystal Palace, just their fifth league victory of the season.

On the road, Leeds have struggled. The Whites have taken just one away win from eight attempts, earning four points from a possible 24. Their defensive record away from home has been particularly porous, conceding 19 goals while scoring only seven, and they are yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels.

Head-to-Head

Leeds United are unbeaten in their last three meetings against Sunderland (W1 D2). Last season in the Championship, the two sides drew 2-2 at the Stadium of Light before Leeds claimed a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture at Elland Road.

Betting

Sunderland 8/5

Draw 9/4

Leeds United 19/10

Verdict

Sunderland’s strong home form makes them hard to oppose, while Leeds’ struggles on the road continue to hold them back despite signs of improvement. The Stadium of Light has been a difficult place to visit this season, and with the Black Cats carrying real momentum on home soil, siding with Sunderland to take all three points looks the most appealing option in the outright market.

Suggested Bet: Full Time Result – Sunderland to Win at 8/5

CRYSTAL PALACE v TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR – Click here to bet

We round off Sunday’s action with an all-London clash at Selhurst Park, where Crystal Palace welcome Tottenham Hotspur in a meeting between two sides looking for stability.

The Eagles come off a disappointing midweek cup exit, losing 8–7 on penalties to Arsenal in the League Cup quarter-finals at the Emirates. That result added to Palace’s recent struggles, marking back-to-back defeats in all competitions and extending their winless run to four matches. Their most recent league outing was equally tough, as they were comfortably beaten 4–1 away at Leeds United. Despite that, Oliver Glasner’s men remain eighth, with 26 points from 17 league matches (W7 D5 L5).

At Selhurst Park, Palace have struggled to assert themselves. They’ve taken just 10 points from eight home league games, with two wins, four draws and two defeats. With only nine goals scored and ten conceded, the Eagles have looked far more effective on the road this season, a clear contrast to their muted home form.

Tottenham make the short trip across London hoping to halt a worrying slide in form. Spurs arrive having suffered consecutive league defeats, a 3–0 hammering at Nottingham Forest followed by a 2–1 loss at home to Liverpool. Thomas Frank’s side sit 14th with 22 points from 17 matches (W6 D4 L7).

Their struggles have been most evident away from home. Spurs are winless in their last five away matches across all competitions, picking up just one point while conceding 16 and scoring only six during that stretch. The heavy defeat at Forest highlighted their defensive fragility on the road. Still, they’ll hope to exploit Palace’s recent inconsistencies as they look to get back on track.

Head-to-Head

Crystal Palace enjoyed the upper hand in this fixture last season, completing a league double over Tottenham with a 1–0 home win at Selhurst Park followed by a 2–0 victory in North London.

Betting

Crystal Palace 13/10

Draw 12/5

Tottenham Hotspur 9/4

Verdict

Defensive concerns on both sides point towards goals, especially with Spurs often vulnerable away from home. Palace can create chances at Selhurst Park, and Spurs have more than enough quality going forward to respond. With neither back line convincing, Both Teams to Score looks the way to go.

Suggested Bet: Both Teams to score at 77/100
