Serie A offers a tightly packed but compelling weekend, as we take a look at three fixtures that touch on very different storylines across the division.
Saturday’s action opens in Rome, where Lazio look to turn home consistency into momentum against a stubborn Cremonese side, before the focus shifts north to Turin for a high-stakes encounter between Juventus and Roma, two sides with European ambitions and little margin for error.
The weekend wraps up in Florence on Sunday, where pressure continues to mount on Fiorentina as they host an Udinese outfit buoyed by a confidence-boosting result last time out. Here are my thoughts on each match, along with a suggested bet for every fixture.
Ahead of the weekend’s action, let’s take a look at the outright market. Inter Milan continue to set the pace at 13/20, with AC Milan and Napoli heading the chasing pack, both priced at 13/4. Roma linger on the fringes of the title conversation at 16/1, while Juventus sit a little further back at 25/1. The remainder of the field trails off at 100/1 and beyond.

SATURDAY
LAZIO v CREMONESE – Click here to bet
We begin Saturday’s Serie A action at the Stadio Olimpico, where Lazio welcome Cremonese in the early evening kickoff. The Biancocelesti arrive in good spirits after a narrow 1–0 win away to Parma last weekend, a result that extended their unbeaten run to three matches across all competitions (W2 D1), including Coppa Italia duties. Maurizio Sarri’s side enter Round 16 sitting 8th in the table with 22 points, having recorded six wins, four draws, and five defeats so far.
Home form has largely been a source of encouragement for Lazio this season. They have lost just once at the Olimpico in all competitions, collecting 14 points from a possible 21 in league play (W4 D2), while scoring 13 goals and conceding just five. That consistency has translated into a six-match unbeaten run at home across all competitions (W4 D2), underlining their growing confidence in Rome.
Cremonese make the trip south after a disappointing 1–0 defeat away to Torino, a result that brought an end to a brief resurgence which saw them claim back-to-back league wins against Bologna and Lecce. Davide Nicola’s men now sit 11th with 20 points from 15 matches, their record evenly split with five wins, five draws, and five defeats.
Despite last weekend’s setback, Cremonese have been competitive on their travels. The Grigiorossi have collected 11 points from eight away league matches this season (W3 D2 L2), and notably, they have avoided consecutive away defeats throughout the campaign. That resilience on the road will be tested here against one of the stronger home sides in the division.
Head-to-Head
These sides last met during the 2022/23 campaign, where Lazio completed a league double over Cremonese with a 4–0 away win followed by a 3–2 victory at the Olimpico.
Betting
Lazio 61/100
Draw 57/20
Cremonese 19/4
Verdict
Cremonese’s away form suggests they will not be rolled over easily, but Lazio’s consistency at home, coupled with their defensive solidity, gives Sarri’s side a clear edge. The hosts should have enough to secure maximum points, though it may require patience against a well-organised visiting side.
Suggested Bet: Bet Builder – Lazio to win & Cremonese to score under 1.5 goals at 7/10
JUVENTUS v AS ROMA – Click here to bet
Saturday evening sees a heavyweight clash in Turin as Juventus host Roma in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the weekend. The Bianconeri continue to show signs of improvement under Luciano Spalletti, entering Round 16 off the back of a hard-fought 1–0 win away to Bologna. That followed a 2–0 European victory over Pafos, meaning Juventus arrive on a run of back-to-back wins in all competitions.
Currently 5th in the table with 26 points from 15 matches, Juventus sit four points behind Roma, having recorded seven wins, five draws, and three defeats. Defensive stability has been a cornerstone of their recent upturn, particularly on home soil.
At the Allianz Stadium, Juventus remain unbeaten in all competitions this season. Domestically, they have yet to lose a league match in Turin, posting four wins and three draws to collect 15 points from a possible 21. They have scored 12 league goals at home while conceding just six, reinforcing their strength in familiar surroundings.
Roma travel north having returned to winning ways with a 1–0 home victory over Como on Monday night. That result brought welcome relief for Gian Piero Gasperini after consecutive league defeats against Napoli and Cagliari. The Giallorossi sit 4th with 30 points from 15 matches (W10 L5) and remain firmly in the title picture, just three points adrift of leaders Inter.
Away from home, Roma have been one of Serie A’s most effective sides. They have claimed 15 points from seven away matches (W5 L2), the third-best away return in the league. Their defensive record on the road is particularly impressive, conceding just four goals while scoring eight, the best away defensive mark in the division.
Head-to-Head
Recent meetings between these two have been tightly contested, with the last three encounters ending in draws. Last season’s league fixtures produced a 0–0 draw in Turin followed by a 1–1 stalemate in Rome.
Betting
Juventus 11/10
Draw 9/4
AS Roma 57/20
Verdict
With both sides in strong form and separated by just four points, another close and tactical battle looks likely. Juventus’ home resilience meets Roma’s outstanding away record, making this difficult to separate once again. A low-scoring draw appears a strong fit given recent history.
Suggested Bet: Full Time Result – Draw at 9/4
SUNDAY
FIORENTINA v UDINESE – Click here to bet
Sunday’s action concludes in Florence, where Fiorentina welcome Udinese to the Stadio Artemio Franchi in a match carrying significant pressure for the hosts. Fiorentina remain in deep trouble, still searching for their first league win of the season. Last weekend’s 2–1 home defeat to Verona marked their ninth loss in 15 matches, leaving them bottom of the table with just six points.
Paolo Vanoli’s tenure has come under increasing scrutiny, with speculation growing around his future as Fiorentina edge closer to a relegation battle few would have imagined at the start of the campaign. Home form has been particularly alarming as the Viola have collected just two points from seven league matches at the Franchi (D2 L5).
The contrast with last season is stark. At this stage last term, Fiorentina were unbeaten in their first seven home league games (W5 D2), scoring 15 goals and conceding six. This season, they have managed just seven goals while shipping 13 in the same number of fixtures, a clear reflection of their struggles at both ends of the pitch.
Udinese arrive in Florence buoyed by a morale-boosting 1–0 win over reigning champions Napoli last weekend. That victory snapped a poor run which included Coppa Italia elimination by Juventus and a 2–1 league defeat at home to Genoa. Kosta Runjaic’s side sit 10th with 21 points from 15 matches, having recorded six wins, three draws, and six defeats.
Away from home, Udinese have been relatively steady, collecting 10 points from seven league matches (W3 D1 L3). However, recent form on the road has dipped, with three defeats in their last four away outings across all competitions, conceding seven goals and scoring just three during that stretch.
Head-to-Head
Fiorentina have generally had the upper hand in recent meetings, losing just once in their last five encounters with Udinese (W3 D1 L1). Last season saw both sides win away from home, with Udinese claiming a 2–1 victory in Florence before Fiorentina responded with a 3–2 win in Udine.
Betting
Fiorentina 23/20
Draw 12/5
Udinese 5/2
Verdict
Fiorentina’s ongoing struggles at the Franchi make them difficult to trust, despite a relatively favourable recent head-to-head record. Udinese arrive with renewed confidence after last weekend’s statement win and look well placed to capitalize on the hosts’ continued fragility. With pressure mounting on Fiorentina and little evidence of improvement on home soil, the visitors appeal as the safer option here, and taking Udinese draw no bet provides sensible insurance should this contest ultimately end level.
Suggested Bet: Udinese Draw No Bet at 6/4
