Australia and England meet in the 3rd Ashes Test in Adelaide on Wednesday and the hosts will be looking to wrap up the 5-match series. We take a look at the game from a betting angle.
RECAP
Australia has won both the opening two tests by 8 wickets.
The 1st Test took place in Perth and was a low scoring affair with Australia hitting the winning runs within 3 days.
The 2nd Test in Brisbane had more runs with England batting first and getting 334 thanks to an unbeaten 138 by Joe Root. Mitchell Starc, who has taken 18 wickets in the series to date, took 6 for 75 in his 20 overs.
Australia then amassed a massive 511 all out and every batsman got into double figures, but amazingly in a score that size there were no centuries. Jake Weatherald was top scorer with 72. Brydon Carse was top wicket taker for the English with 4 for 152 in his 29 overs.
England were bowled out for 241 in their second innings with all of the top order getting starts, but not kicking on. Captain, Ben Stokes top scored with 50 and this time it was Michael Nesser who was Destroyer-in-Chief with 5 for 42 off 16.2 overs.
Australia knocked the runs off in 10 overs finishing on 69/2.
OUTRIGHT BETTING
Looking at some of the long term Ashes Markets, the series is expected to be decided over the next few days with the 3rd Test the 1.44 favourite. You can get 2.00 that England win a test and Travis Head is 3.25 to be the series Top Batsman and there are a number of other markets on offer.

3rd Test Betting – Click here to bet
Australia 1.47
Draw 12.00
England 3.15
England have been their own worst enemies at times during this series, but such has been Australia’s dominance it is hard to see them reversing the result of the 1st and 2nd tests and I will be looking to some of the alternative markets on offer for a betting interest.
BET: Innings 1 – Joe Root Total Runs over 31.5 at 1.87
Root was impressive in the 2nd Test in Brisbane and he is once again likely to be the rock around which the England innings is built.
BET: Mitchell Starc, Australia Top 1st Innings Wicket Taker 3.40
Starc is rightfully the favourite in this market, and given his form in this Ashes series and with England’s top order looking fragile I am going to back him to continue his good run.
Remember there will be in-running betting throughout the Test.
