World Cup 2026 qualifying continues on Tuesday night and we’ll take a closer look at two European fixtures from a betting angle.

Scotland come into this fixture sitting 2nd in Group C with 10 points from five matches. Their campaign has been steady rather than spectacular, with solid home performances keeping them in contention. They beat Belarus and Greece at Hampden in recent outings, but a 3–2 defeat away to Greece last time out highlighted some defensive vulnerabilities. Still, with three wins in their last four, Scotland remain competitive and strong on home soil and a top 2 spot is guaranteed.
Denmark top the group with 11 points and remain unbeaten after five matches. Their attack has been sharp, scoring 14 goals, while conceding just three. A 6–0 hammering of Belarus and a strong 3–1 win over Greece show their quality, although they were held 2–2 by Belarus last week in a slightly surprising result with the draw trading at 13.00. Denmark have been the more consistent side overall and carry the superior firepower into this contest but with both sides having qualified motivation levels are questionable.
Head-to-Head:
These sides met earlier in the campaign, playing out a 0–0 draw in Denmark. Scotland also won the previous competitive meeting 2–0 in 2021, while Denmark won 2–0 earlier that same year. Historically, Scotland lead the matchup with 8 wins to Denmark’s 5.

Verdict:
Scotland are always tough at home, but Denmark look better balanced and more dangerous in the final third. This should be competitive but given the lack of edge in the game I am looking for goals.

Sweden’s qualifying campaign has been disappointing, sitting bottom of Group B with just one point from five matches. They’ve lost four of their last five qualifiers and have struggled badly defensively, conceding 11 goals while scoring only three. Their most recent outing saw them lose 4–1 away to Switzerland, and home form has offered little improvement.
Slovenia have also battled through a difficult campaign, sitting 3rd with three points from five fixtures. Their defence has kept them competitive, earning three draws, including a 0–0 at home to Switzerland recently. Their biggest concern remains goals and they’ve found the net just twice in qualifying. However, they will take encouragement from their 2–2 draw against Sweden earlier in the group.
Head-to-Head:
Sweden are unbeaten in this matchup, winning twice and drawing three times. The most recent meeting was the 2–2 draw in September, while Sweden won 2–0 in Slovenia in 2022.

Verdict:
Neither side has inspired confidence, but Sweden remain the more talented squad and are overdue a result. Slovenia’s lack of attacking threat on the road could be the difference and I am looking for a home win without conceding.
