Formula 1 Singapore GP 2025 – Betting Preview
Formula 1 returns this weekend after a short break as the grid heads to the streets of Marina Bay for the Singapore Grand Prix. Known for its night race spectacle and demanding circuit, it’s always one of the most challenging events on the calendar. We’ll take a look at this week’s race from a betting perspective and highlight a few suggested plays.
PREVIOUS RACE – Azerbaijan GP
Two weeks ago we were treated to another thrilling race that has blown the Drivers’ Championship wide open. McLaren endured a tough weekend in qualifying, with both drivers starting mid-pack. Oscar Piastri, beginning from ninth, crashed into the wall and was forced to retire. That left teammate Lando Norris with a golden opportunity to close the gap in the standings, but he struggled for pace and could only finish seventh.
Instead, it was four-time World Champion Max Verstappen who seized the moment, claiming his second consecutive victory and thrusting himself firmly back into the title fight.
CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Oscar Piastri 324 points
Lando Norris 299 points
Max Verstappen 255 points
The bookmakers still have Oscar Piastri as favourite to clinch the Drivers’ Championship at 1.45, with Norris close behind at 3.40. However, Verstappen’s back-to-back wins have reignited his campaign, and at 7.50 he looks well-positioned to mount a late charge for yet another title with seven races remaining.

Singapore GP 2024
Last year in Singapore, Lando Norris delivered a flawless performance under the lights, finishing a commanding 20 seconds clear of Max Verstappen. His McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri, also impressed with third place, while George Russell secured fourth in a strong drive for Mercedes.

VERDICT
Lando Norris returns to Singapore after dominating last year’s race, and he knows both the circuit and what it takes to win under the lights at Marina Bay. With his teammate Piastri still holding the edge in the standings, Norris understands the importance of striking now to close the gap. This time last year he was chasing Verstappen for the title and came up short so he’s been in this position before and knows exactly what’s required to keep his championship hopes alive.
Suggested Bet: Lando Norris to win at 3.25
Mercedes have also been showing steady momentum in recent rounds. In two of the last three races both cars finished inside the top six, with George Russell grabbing yet another podium last time out and Kimi Antonelli bringing home fourth. With Ferrari firmly in their sights in the Constructors’ Championship, I expect another strong showing from the Silver Arrows in Singapore.
Suggested Bet: Both cars Top 6 finish – Mercedes at 2.40
