SUNDAY
TS GALAXY vs DURBAN CITY – Click here to bet
TS Galaxy ended the 2024/25 season in 5th place with 35 points, recording 8 wins, 11 draws, and 9 losses. Their goal difference of 0 reflected a balanced campaign, but they struggled for consistency late in the season, going winless in their final five matches of which 3 were drawn and 2 ended in defeat.
A home opener against a freshly promoted side presents a golden opportunity to start their new campaign on the front foot.
Durban City enter the PSL as one of the season’s unknown sides, having earned promotion in style from the National First Division 24/25 season where they topped the log to advance into the Prem.
While momentum from the lower league can boost confidence, the leap in quality will be a real test for the KZN outfit, particularly in away fixtures and there is no doubt this trip to Mpumalanga will be a tough baptism.
Head-to-Head
The last fixture between these teams was held at the Nedbank Cup 2025 in February, Durban City showed a huge fight to pick up a 2-1 victory at home, despite being major underdogs. Prior to this they met in the 22/23 league where each side won 2-1 respectively, both while playing away from home.
Betting and Verdict
TS Galaxy are 1.62 favourites, the draw is priced at 3.50, with Durban City at 6.00.
Given Galaxy’s top-half finish last season and Durban City’s lack of PSL experience, the hosts should have the edge here in my opinion.

STELLENBOSCH vs KAIZER CHIEFS – Click here to bet
Stellenbosch enjoyed a successful league campaign in 24/25, finishing 3rd on the log with 48 points from 28 matches and securing CAF Confederation Cup football status. They scored 34 goals throughout the season and conceded just 21, boasting one of the league’s better defensive records.
Ending last season with 3 wins in their last 5 trips to the pitch, Stellenbosch will look to maintain that momentum in front of their home crowd on Sunday.
Kaizer Chiefs had another underwhelming Premiership season by their standards, finishing 9th overall with 32 points, a -7 goal difference, and just 8 wins to their name. Their final run in of 4 draws and a loss summed up their struggles to turn games in their favour, which they battled with the entire season.
Chiefs will need a much sharper attacking display, as well as a higher level of defence if they hope to challenge teams higher up the table this time around.
Head-to-Head
These two teams have met 4 times over the last two league seasons, with Kaizer Chiefs holding the advantage due to winning 3 of the 4 clashes, with Stellenbosch claiming victory once. Their latest Prem meeting was in February where Chiefs won 1-0 on the road and more recently they clashed in the Nedbank Cup where Chiefs pulled off a 3-1 triumph away from home in March.
Betting and Verdict
Stellenbosch are priced at 2.10 with the draw at 3.13, and Kaizer Chiefs at 4.00.
I think that although Stellenbosch will have enough in the tank to win the game, both sides will find the back of the net at least once.
