CRUSADERS vs BLUES – click here to bet
The Crusaders wrapped up the group stages in second place on the log after an impressive run of 11 wins and just 3 losses, finishing only 2 points behind the table-topping Chiefs. In the quarter-finals, they made full use of home advantage to deliver a dominant performance against the Reds. Controlling proceedings from early on, they restricted the visitors while piling on the points, eventually securing a convincing 32–12 victory to book their place in the semi-finals.
The Blues, on the other hand, had a far rockier path. After a slow start to the season, they managed to sneak into sixth place thanks to 6 wins, 8 losses, and a valuable 9 bonus points. That earned them a tough quarter-final clash against the Chiefs in Hamilton. In a gritty and closely contested encounter, the Blues kept fighting until the final whistle — and their persistence paid off when they crossed the line for a late try, converting it to seal a dramatic 20–19 upset win and progress to the final four.
Head-to-Head:
The Crusaders head into this semi-final with a psychological edge, having won 4 of their last 5 encounters against the Blues. The only exception came four matches ago in 2024, when the Blues managed to get the better of them.
Their most recent clash took place in April this year and proved to be a tightly fought contest. On that occasion, the Crusaders edged out a 25–22 win on home soil — a result that will give them added confidence heading into this weekend’s rematch in Christchurch.
Betting and Verdict:
The Crusaders enter the fixture as favorites at 1.40 with the Blues trailing at 3.40 and the draw 26.00.
Handicap: Crusaders [-6.5]
This should be a tight game and I am going for a home win and under 49.5 points as conditions look like being tricky.
BET: Result and Totals Crusaders and under 49.5 points at 2.45

SATURDAY
CHIEFS vs BRUMBIES – click here to bet
The Chiefs were the standout teams during the regular season, racking up 11 wins and just 3 losses to finish top of the table with 51 points and an impressive points difference of +231. Despite heading into the quarter-finals as favourites and enjoying home advantage, they were stunned by a resilient Blues side last Saturday, falling short by a single point in a dramatic 20–19 loss.
However, as the highest-ranked losing side — and with only six teams in the playoff bracket — the Chiefs were handed a lifeline and now have a shot at redemption in this weekend’s semi-final.
The Brumbies enjoyed a solid campaign themselves, consistently occupying a top-three position throughout the group stages. They ultimately finished third with 9 wins and 5 losses. In their quarter-final clash, they faced off against a powerful Hurricanes outfit in a high-scoring affair. It was a see-saw battle, but the Brumbies dug deep to edge the contest 35–28 and secure their place in the final four.
Head-to-Head:
The Chiefs have dominated recent meetings between the two sides, winning 4 of the last 5 clashes. The Brumbies’ sole win in that run came back in 2022. Their most recent encounter was in March this year, where the Chiefs again came out on top with a 49–34 victory on home turf.
Betting and Verdict:
The Chiefs have the betting odds heavily stacked in their favour at 1.18 with the Brumbies priced at 6.00 and the draw 36.00.
Handicap: Chiefs [-13.5]
The handicap has moved from -10.5 Chiefs to -13.5 and I can’t argue with the money for the home team.
With rain expected I am backing the Chiefs to keep the Brumbies below 19 points.
BET: Brumbies under 19.5 points at 1.83
