The knockout stages of the 2024/2025 United Rugby Championship are upon us, with only eight teams remaining. Three South African, two Irish, two Scottish, and one Welsh side are left in the running. We look at all four quarter-final clashes from a betting perspective and suggest a few value plays.
Leinster are chasing their first URC title and are favourites to lift the trophy at 1.40. The Bulls follow at 5.00, while the Sharks are priced at 11.00.

GLASGOW vs STORMERS – Click here to bet
The defending champions Glasgow Warriors have only managed one win from their last five matches in all competitions. Their most recent outing was a 13-5 loss to Leinster in Dublin two weeks ago.
The Stormers head into the playoffs in strong form, winning their last four matches—beating Connacht, Benetton, Dragons, and Cardiff (34-24), although all were played at home.
Head-to-Head:
Glasgow have won the last four meetings between the sides, including a 28-17 victory in Cape Town earlier this season.
Betting & Verdict:
Glasgow 1.40 | Stormers 3.40 | Draw 26.00
Handicap: Glasgow [-6.5] @ 1.95
- The Stormers have struggled outside of South Africa, with just one away win (vs Scarlets) this year. Despite indifferent recent form, Glasgow’s home advantage should see them through.
BET: Glasgow [-6.5] @ 1.95
SATURDAY
VODACOM BULLS vs EDINBURGH – Click here to bet
The Bulls found strong form in the final stretch of the pool phase, winning four consecutive matches. Their most recent outing was a dominant 55-15 home victory over the Dragons.
Edinburgh, after a disappointing Challenge Cup semi-final loss, responded well with wins over Connacht and Ulster to close out the group stage. Their 47-17 win over Ulster showed their attacking intent and while the altitude could be a problem they will enjoy the dry conditions.
Head-to-Head:
In the last five meetings, Edinburgh have won three while the Bulls have taken two. Notably, the home team has won every time. Their most recent clash saw Edinburgh edge the Bulls 34-28.
Betting & Verdict:
Bulls 1.08 | Edinburgh 11.00 | Draw 46.00
Handicap: Edinburgh [+17.5] @ 1.85
- Edinburgh have twice played in Pretoria and lost both, but never by more than six points. With this being a high-pressure quarter-final, and considering Edinburgh’s competitive record in South Africa, this could be closer than expected.
BET: Handicap, Edinburgh [+17.5] @ 1.85
LEINSTER vs SCARLETS – Click here to bet
This is the only quarter-final not to feature a South African side.
Leinster come into this match having won three of their last five games. Their most recent fixture was a 13-5 win over Glasgow, following a dominant 76-5 victory against Zebre the week before.
Scarlets have also won three of their last five, but they head into this clash on the back of a 12-3 loss to the Sharks in Durban two weeks ago.
Head-to-Head:
Scarlets pulled off one of the upsets of the season when they beat Leinster 35-22 at home earlier in the campaign. Before that, Leinster had won five in a row against the Welsh side. The last time they met in Dublin, Leinster won convincingly, 54-5.
Betting & Verdict:
Leinster 1.03 | Scarlets 21.00 | Draw 76.00
Handicap: Leinster [-23.5] @ 1.91
- Scarlets’ win earlier this season came against a weakened Leinster side. With a full-strength team and knockout rugby on the line, Leinster—who beat Glasgow 52-0 in their last quarter-final in the Champions Cup—should show their class. Expect a clinical response after their Champions Cup semi-final disappointment.
BET: Handicap, Leinster [-23.5] @ 1.91

SHARKS vs MUNSTER – Click here to bet
The Sharks enter this quarter-final on a hot streak, having won four matches in a row. Their most recent result was a 12-3 home victory over the Scarlets two weeks ago.
Munster arrive with momentum of their own, securing back-to-back home wins, including a 30-21 victory over Benetton in their last outing.
Head-to-Head:
In their last five meetings, both teams have claimed two wins apiece, with one match ending in a draw. All wins have come at home.
Betting & Verdict:
Sharks 1.40 | Munster 3.50 | Draw 26.00
Handicap: Sharks [-6.5] @ 1.91
- Munster have a decent record when touring South Africa, but the Sharks are peaking at the right time and will be tough to stop at home. They should have enough quality and confidence to get the job done in front of their fans.
BET: Handicap, Sharks [-6.5] @ 1.91
