FRIDAY
Ulster v Stormers – Click here to bet
Ulster are coming off the back of back-to-back wins beating the Scarlets and Dragons in rounds 12 and 13. Their match against the Dragons last week saw them win 30-34 away from home.
The Stormers are also coming off the back of two wins against the Bulls and the Scarlets. Their match against the Scarlets ended 17-29 away from home in what was possibly their best performance of the season.
Head-to-Head
The two sides have played each other four times since 2022 with the Stormers winning three matches, all in Cape Town, and Ulster winning the only match in Belfast. The most recent match saw the Stormers win 13-7 in Cape Town a year ago.
Betting and verdict
Ulster are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.75 while the Stormers are trading at 2.30 for the win. The draw is currently at 23.00.
Both teams have had similar form going into this match, however, I see the home ground advantage being the difference between the two sides and will back Ulster on the handicap.
Handicap: Ulster [-1.5]
BET: Handicap, Ulster [-1.5] at 1.85
SATURDAY
Vodacom Bulls v Zebre – Click here to bet
The Bulls pulled off a brilliant last minute scrum penalty to beat Leinster at home last weekend. The match ended 21-20. They have now won three of their last four matches and have cemented their status as 2nd favourites.
Zebre’s three match winning streak ended last weekend as they lost 35-34 to the Sharks away from home, a game where they started 20 point underdogs.
Head-to-Head
The Bulls have won all three matches against Zebre with the most recent match ending 29-54 in Italy. The only time the two sides played in Pretoria, the Bulls won 78-12.
Betting and verdict
The Bulls are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.05 while Zebre are trading at 16.00 for the win. The draw is currently at 61.00.
Although Zebre have been on a decent run of form, nothing humbles a team more than coming to Loftus. After the Bulls last gasp win last weekend, they will be full of momentum and so I see them delivering a massive performance this weekend.
Handicap: Bulls [-20.5]
BET: Handicap, Bulls [-20.5] at 1.95.
Sharks v Leinster – Click here to bet
The Sharks pulled off a narrow win at home against Zebre last weekend with the match ending 35-34. They have now won four of their last five matches with their only defeat coming against the Lions at the beginning of the month.
Leinster suffered their first defeat in 16 matches last weekend as a last-minute penalty secured the Bulls the win. They still remain comfortably on top of the table.
Head-to-Head
Leinster have won their last three matches against the Sharks with all the matches being played in Dublin. The most recent result ended 34-13.
Betting and verdict
The Sharks are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.33 while Leinster are trading at 4.00 for the win. The draw is currently at 29.00.
The Sharks only managed to win last week’s match by one point against the team that’s 15th on the table while Leinster just lost to the team that is in third and who is known for winning at home. I see this as a very good opportunity to back Leinster with these odds even though they will be fielding a slightly weaker side than last week.
Handicap: Leinster [+8.5]
BET: Leinster to win at 4.00.
Glasgow Warriors v Lions – Click here to bet
The Glasgow Warriors pulled off a solid win last weekend against Munster at home where the match ended 28-25. They have won three of their last five matches.
The Lions suffered yet another defeat away from home last weekend as they lost their match against Cardiff 20-17 and they will have been kicking themselves for blowing opportunities to win in the final minutes.
Head-to-Head
Both teams have won two of the last four matches they have played against each other. The most recent result saw the Lions win 44-21 in Johannesburg. The last time they played in Glasgow, the Warriors won 31-21.
Betting and verdict
The Glasgow Warriors are favourites to win the match and are trading at 1.15 while the Lions are trading at 7.00 for the win and the draw is 36.00
The Lions last three matches away from home have seen them only lose by 11 points or less. Although they lost last weekend they still put in a good performance and so I see them making this weekend’s match a close one.
Handicap: Glasgow Warriors [-13.5]
BET: Handicap, Lions [+13.5] at 1.85.
