They won the toss and decided to field, a move that looked to pay off at one stage as MI Cape Town lost some early wickets. In the end they were set a formidable 175 for victory with Richard Gleeson the top Sunrisers Eastern Cape bowler with 2 for 22 off his 4 overs.
After a good opening over things started going wrong for the home team and in the end they were bowled out for 77 with Aiden Markram top scoring with 19.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape have a strong team on paper, but they will need to stop the rot early and get a win in Paarl.
