DURBAN SUPER GIANTS v PRETORIA CAPITALS
The Durban Super Giants were beaten finalists last year, going down to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the final. They had finished 2nd on the log behind the Sunrisers, but lost the qualifier by 51 runs to the Sunrisers before beating the Joburg Super Kings in the 2nd qualifier by 69 runs which was enough to see them into the final. In the final which was played at Newlands the Sunrisers Eastern Cape batted first scoring 204 for 3 with Keshav Maharaj getting 2 for 33 for the Super Giants and the Durban team were bowled out for 115 with Wiaan Mulder top score with 38 off 22 balls.
The Durban Super Giants will be captained by Keshav Maharaj and they have a strong line-up which also includes Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen and overseas professional, Marcus Stoinis.
The Pretoria Capitals second season in the SA20 was a disappointing one and they finished 5th on the log, missing out of the playoffs. They will be captained by Rilee Rossouw and stars to watch in the team include Will Jacks, an overseas professional who has taken to the SA20 and Anrich Nortje who will be hoping to shrug off recent injury concerns.
Head-to-Head
These sides met twice in last year’s competition with the Pretoria Capitals winning by 17 runs at Centurion Park. They batted first and scored 204 for 9 with Will Jacks getting 101 off just 42 balls. Reece Topley getting 3 for 34 for the Giants. The Giants chased hard, but were eventually 187 for 7 in their 20 overs, Matthew Breetzke getting 33 off 24 and Jacks also contributing with the ball getting 2 for 18 off his 3 overs.
The sides then met later in the Tournament in Durban where the Durban Super Giants won by 8 runs. They scored 174 for 9 off their 20 overs with Breetzke once again top scorer with 73 off 46 and for the Capitals, Dupavillon got 3 for 25 in his 4 overs. The Capitals were 166 for 9 with Will Jacks once again the top scorer with 41 off 26 and Junior Dala getting a 5 wicket haul for 26 runs off his 4 overs.

I really like the look of this Durban Super Giants team and I am going to back them to win the opening game.
