India took a 1-0 series lead with a 295 run victory in Perth but the hosts hit back in the pink ball 2nd test in Adelaide.
2nd TEST MATCH
India win toss but lose wickets
The 2nd test match was a short affair in the end, and it begun with India winning the toss and selecting to bat first. They had a shaky start and they struggled to hold out the firing Australian bowling attack, which resulted in India losing 5 crucial wickets before they had put 100 runs on the board.
From here on out India were not given the opportunity to stabilise and form partnerships, which resulted in them reaching a total of 180 runs all out.
Top Indian batsman honours was claimed by Nitish Kumar Reddy who scored 42 runs off 54 balls and Mitchell Starc stole the show for Australia with a 6-wicket haul for 48 runs in his 14.1 overs at a 3.38 economy rate.
Head puts hosts ahead
Australia then took to the chase and with only one early wicket falling, they fared a lot better than India with the bat in hand.
As the innings played out, Australia managed to build some valuable partnerships. This led to them reaching a total of 337 runs before they were bowled out.
Travis Head topped the batting with his century, ending on 140 runs off 141 balls. As usual Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah was on fire, taking 4 wickets for 61 runs in his 23 overs at a low economy rate of just 2.65 runs an over.
India crumble (again)
The second innings started with India following the same route as they did in the first innings, which saw them crumble early on and struggle to score runs and keep their wickets against the solid Australian bowling.
This resulted in them once again reaching a dismal total of 175 runs all out, leaving Australia with not much work to do at all in order to win.
The top Indian batsman once again was claimed by Nitish Kumar Reddy who scored exactly the same, ending on 42 runs but this time off 47 balls. Pat Cummins looked unstoppable with ball in hand, taking 5 wickets for 57 runs in his 14 over spell.
Openers deliver final rites
Australia took to the pitch one final time in an attempt to score just 19 runs to win the match. As expected this was done with no trouble at all and they finished the match strong, holding onto all 10 of their wickets to win and level the series 1-1.

Australia 1.62
Draw 13.00
India 2.90
Suggested Bet: Top Indian Bowler (1st Innings) – Jasprit Bumrah at 2.20
He is a man on incredible form and although a short price he is always such a wicket taking threat and I am backing him to deliver on the bookies confidence in him.
Suggested Bet: Batsman Total Match Fours – Steve Smith Over 6.5 at 2.00
Smith did not perform in the last test match, but he is a quality player and I expect him to bounce back this time around with a good performance, getting comfortable at the crease and scoring a high total with plenty of boundaries.
