The DP World Tour remains in South Africa for another week as the players head to the top course in the country, Leopard Creek Country Club, for the annual Alfred Dunhill Championship.
With a number of top South African LIV players returning for the tournament, some exciting golf is on the cards and we select 4 players to take on the bookmakers.
Course
Leopard Creek Country Club is one of the best courses, not only in South Africa, but in all of Africa. The course lies on the boundary of the Kruger National Park, with a number of holes having a view into the park. It is a parkland course that embodies the natural surroundings or dense vegetation and African bush.
The greens at Leopard Creek tend to run very fast, which is not helped by the immense heat at this time of the year. Players will have to rely on their short game if they want to be in contention and Greens in Regulation is likely to be a key stat.
The par 72 plays 6,665 yards and can be very getable for long hitters at the high altitude.

SELECTIONS:
Christiaan Bezuidenhout at 12.00
It comes as no surprise that the winner of the Alfred Dunhill Championship is often a South African. This year I can see Bezuidenhout returning to grab his 2nd title at the tournament. His first win came in 2020, and he finished 3rd at last years event. Bezuidenhout finished 6th at last week’s Nedbank Challenge in Sun City and will take that momentum going into this week.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout each way at 12.00
Dean Burmester at 13.00
Burmester has been on a solid run of form in his last three starts with a win, a top 5 and a 22nd place finish at last week’s Nedbank Challenge. Burmester finished 7th at the 2022 Alfred Dunhill and 44th last year. He will be looking to bounce back from last years performance and grab the title so many South African golfers dream of.
Dean Burmester each way at 13.00
Shaun Norris at 46.00
Yet another South African golfer who has been on flying form coming into this weekend. Norris has had three top five finishes in his last four starts, He will be looking to use this momentum in the last big tournament of the year and I am hoping he puts some mediocre recent course form behind him.
Shaun Norris each way at 46.00
Ryggs Johnston 81.00
Johnston was a shock winner of the Australian Open 2 weeks ago and the American made the trip to Sun City last week where he never recovered from a poor start. It was always a big ask to put in another big tournament so close to the biggest result of his career but he stormed through the field on Sunday to finish Top 25 and he can hopefully be in contention come the back 9 on Sunday.
Ryggs Johnston each way at 81.00
