Wales
Wales had another disappointing result last weekend, losing 19-24 to Fiji, a game where they started 6 point favourites. They are yet to win an international fixture this year, losing their 3 Mid-Year fixtures against South Africa and Australia and all 5 Six Nations matches. Their current losing streak is 10 matches.
Wales starting lineup
1.Gareth Thomas, 2.Dewi Lake (c), 3.Archie Griffin, 4.Will Rowlands, 5.Adam Beard, 6.James Botham, 7.Jac Morgan, 8.Aaron Wainwright, 9.Ellis Bevan, 10.Gareth Anscombe, 11.Blair Murray, 12.Ben Thomas, 13.Max Llewellyn, 14.Tom Rogers,15.Cameron Winnett,
Replacements: 16. Ryan Elias, 17. Nicky Smith, 18. Keiron Assiratti, 19. Christ Tshiunza, 20. Tommy Reffell, 21. Rhodri Williams, 22. Sam Costelow, 23. Eddie James
Wales have named another very young side with Adam Beard having the most caps in the starting lineup at 57 caps. The majority of players have between 3-15 caps, suggesting Wales believe that they have what it takes in this young side to take on Australia.
Australia
Australia managed to pull off a brilliant last-minute win against England last weekend winning the match 37-42 in the dying moments of the game. This is after coming off the back of three consecutive losses in the Rugby Championships and it may give them the momentum they need to start a strong winning run.
Australia starting lineup
1. Angus Bell, 2. Matt Faessler,3. Allan Alaalatoa, 4. Nick Frost, 5. Will Skelton, 6. Seru Uru, 7. Fraser McReight, 8. Rob Valetini, 9. Nic White, 10. Noah Lolesio, 11. Max Jorgensen, 12. Samu Kerevi, 13. Len Ikitau, 14. Andrew Kellaway, 15. Tom Wright

Australia have made six changes to their starting lineup from last weekend due to either injuries or tactical decisions by the coaching staff. Although the side may be different it is still a very strong Australian side.
Head-to-Head
The two sides played each other twice earlier this year in Australia with Australia winning both of the matches. The first match ended 25-16 while the second match ended 36-28. Wales won the previous encounter between the two sides which was at the 2023 Rugby World Cup where the match ended 40-6.
Betting and Verdict
Australia are favorites to win the match and are trading at 1.50 while the bookies have whales trading at 3.00 and the draw at 26.00. The handicap at the time of writing is Australia [-5.5].
Australia’s performance last weekend has brought the much-needed momentum to the team. They managed to beat a very strong England side away from home and should be able to bring that form and confidence into this week’s fixture and I am backing them to beat the handicap.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Australia [-5.5] at 1.91.
Both teams’ fixtures last weekend saw a high number of points get scored. The last 2 meeting between the sides in Cardiff have seen 73 points and 57 points scored and I am looking for the points to flow once again.
Suggested Bet: Total number of points over 51.5 at 2.10.
