Ireland clash with South Africa for the 3rd and final ODI of a 3 match series on Monday the 7th of October. The match will be played in the Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, and we will look at it from a betting angle.
South Africa won the 1st ODI by 139 runs and have now taken a winning 2-0 lead in the 3 match series.
2nd ODI, Ireland vs South Africa
The second ODI was held on Friday the 4th of October, where South Africa once again won the toss and elected to bat first. They started well with bat in hand, and their opening partnership was looking good until captain, Temba Bavuma retired due to injury and not long after that the wicket of Rickelton fell.
The Proteas recovered from this setback and while losing a few wickets along the way they cruised to a total of 343/4 after 50 overs, with Tristan Stubbs being named the top dog with bat in hand, scoring 112 runs off 81 balls (we had tipped him to get a 50).
With the Irish struggling to break the South African batting line-up, it was Andy McBrine who produced the best bowling figures, picking up 1 wicket for 43 runs in his 10 over spell.
The second innings began terribly for Ireland who found themselves 5 wickets down within the first 10 overs, while only having 50 runs on the board. Things did not get much better for them as the game progressed and they lost wickets frequently, making it impossible for them to built partnerships and in the end, they were bowled out for 169, resulting in a 174-run win for the South Africans.
Top Irishman at the crease on the day was Craig Young who scored 29 not out off 21 deliveries. On the South African side, it was Lizaad Williams who once again put up a huge bowling performance, taking 3 wickets for 36 runs in his 5 overs.

Ireland 15/4
South Africa 2/11
Suggested Bet: Ireland Total Fours – Under 16.5 at 1.95
This bet would have arrived in both of the 1st 2 ODI’s played at the same ground and I am looking to oppose this struggling Irish batting lineup once again.
Suggested Bet: Top Batter (both sides) – Tristan Stubbs at 5.60
He is in excellent form and will no doubt be itching to get stuck into the Irish attack. He is the type of batsman who scores quickly so can even land this bet if he only arrives at the crease in the 2nd half of the innings.
