1st ODI, Ireland vs South Africa
The 1st ODI which took place on Wednesday saw the Proteas win the toss and elect to bat first, where they looked under pressure after losing 3 early wickets which left them on 3-39 at the end of the ninth over. Ryan Rickelton (our pick for top South African bat) and Tristan Stubbs then put up a solid partnership of 152 runs to stabilise the innings. South Africa ended on 271/9.
Top batsman was Ryan Rickelton who scored 91 off 102 deliveries. For the Irish, Mark Adair topped the bowling figures with 4 wickets for 50 runs in his 10 over spell.
The second innings began with Ireland taking to the crease, where the South African bowlers Williams and Ngidi put them under big pressure early on and Ireland were unable to weather the early bowling attack of the Proteas which saw them stumble to 61/5 at the end of the 14th over. They never recovered and were bowled out for 132 runs, resulting in South Africa winning by 139 runs to lead the series 1-0.
Top Irish player with bat in hand was opener, Andy Balbirnie who scored 20 off 28 balls. For the Proteas it was Lizaad Williams who claimed best bowling figures on the night, taking 4 wickets for 32 runs in his 10 overs.

Ireland 3.70
South Africa 1.27
Suggested Bet: To Score a 50 – Tristan Stubbs – Yes at 2.90
He looked really impressive in the 1st ODI and has become an integral part of this Proteas team and even if the side make a strong start I think the coaches will be keen to get him time at the crease.
Suggested Bet: Top Ireland Bowler – Mark Adair at 2.70
He showed off his talent in the first ODI and he looks like the man most likely to trouble the Proteas batting lineup.
