SATURDAY
INTER MILAN v US LECCE– Click here to bet
Inter Milan, tipped as title favourites, stumbled in their season opener last week. In a dramatic conclusion, Genoa equalized with a penalty rebound deep into stoppage time, resulting in a 2-2 draw. This outcome leaves Inter Milan in 7th place after matchday one. They will look to rectify their performance this weekend when they face US Lecce at the San Siro on Saturday evening. With a formidable record of ten consecutive home wins against Lecce, the Nerazzurri will be confident of bouncing back from last weekend’s setback.
US Lecce enter Week 2 at the bottom of the standings after a disappointing 4-0 home defeat to Atalanta. This Saturday, they face a tough challenge against an Inter Milan side eager to make amends for their previous result. With only one goal scored in their last seven visits to the San Siro and ten consecutive defeats against Inter Milan there, US Lecce’s prospects look particularly bleak, especially considering their overall poor away form last season.
Head-to-Head
Inter secured the double over Lecce last season, winning 2-0 in this fixture and 4-0 in the reverse encounter.
Betting
Inter Milan 2/9
Draw 11/2
US Lecce 13/1
Prediction
Following US Lecce’s toothless performance at home against Atalanta, it’s hard to make a strong case for them here. They are likely to struggle this weekend and may end up with back-to-back defeats without scoring a goal.
Suggested Bet: Inter Milan To Win To Nil, Yes at 8/10
SUNDAY
TORINO v ATALANTA– Click here to bet
Torino began their campaign positively, securing a crucial point with a thrilling 2-2 draw away to AC Milan last weekend, placing them 8th in the standings. This Sunday, they will host Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in a fixture known for its exciting encounters. Although Torino has struggled against Atalanta in the past, they did manage a dominant 3-0 victory in their most recent meeting last season, which was a welcome turnaround after suffering four consecutive home defeats to the Nerazzurri prior to that.
Last season’s Europa League winners, Atalanta, began their domestic campaign with a dominant 4-0 victory away to US Lecce. Last season, their four-game winning streak away to Torino ended with a heavy 3-0 defeat, their worst loss to the Bulls since a 5-1 drubbing in 2012. The Black and Blues will be keen to make amends and build on their strong start this season, as they currently top the league standings with 3 points and a goal difference of +4.
Head-to-Head
Atalanta won 3-0 in the reverse fixture last season, while Torino returned the favour with a 3-0 victory in this fixture.
Betting
Torino 21/10
Draw 22/10
Atalanta 15/10
Prediction
The outright result looks tricky to predict given last season’s outcomes, but there does appear to be a market that stands out with very favourable odds. In the last ten encounters between these two sides, over 2.5 goals would have yielded a profit in every game, and that is the market I’m strongly leaning towards here.
Suggested Bet: Totals, Over 2.5 at 11/10
NAPOLI v BOLOGNA– Click here to bet
Napoli will host Bologna at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium this Sunday, eager to bounce back from last weekend’s 3-0 defeat to Verona. Currently languishing in 19th place, Napoli will look to their first home game of the season for a much-needed boost. However, this will be a tough challenge for the hosts, especially given last season’s disappointing result against Bologna in Naples. With memories of that setback still fresh, Napoli will be determined to avoid a repeat and secure their first points of the campaign. To do so, they’ll need to be at their best against a resilient Bologna side.
Bologna make their way to Naples having secured their first point of the season with a frustrating 1-1 result at home against Udinese. Despite dominating in every facet of the game, the Red and Blues simply could not convert their superiority into three points, which has left them in 9th place on the table at present. Sunday’s encounter should be intriguing as Bologna face a challenging test against a Napoli side that has historically been difficult to contend with. However, the tides may have turned, as Bologna’s significant improvements saw them remain unbeaten against Napoli last season.
Head-to-Head
In the reverse fixture last season, the two sides drew 0-0, while Bologna won this matchup 2-0
Betting
Napoli 19/20
Draw 26/10
Bologna 16/5
Prediction
Napoli have had a terrible start to their campaign, and I’m surprised they’re favoured for this match given last season’s result. I believe the visitors can get something from this game for the second season running.
Suggested Bet: Double Chance, Draw or Bologna at 17/20
