The Capitals bowling attack was terrible early on and they were unable to take a wicket by the end of the powerplay, resulting in the Sunrisers sitting on 125/0 after the 6 overs. The bowlers then began to pick up wickets at a decent rate, but with their opponents batting so fast they reached a total of 266/7. Top bowler was Kuldeep Yadav who took 4 wickets for 55 runs in 4 overs.
The Capitals started off losing 2 early wickets in the powerplay and although they were batting at just below the same rate as their opponents were, they had lost wickets which slowed them down a lot over the course of the game. The Capitals did their best in the end but with the wickets falling at a frequent rate, they lost the match by 67 runs after being bowled out in the last over. Top batsman was Jake Fraser-McGurk who scored 65 off 18 balls at a strike rate of 361.11.
The Gujarat Titans faced off against the Punjab Kings on Sunday the 21st, the game took place in Mullanpur and it was the 37th game of the IPL. The match started with the Kings winning the toss and electing to bat first and initially the Titans struggled to take wickets, this was until the end of the powerplay when the wickets began to drop frequently, and the bowlers slowed down the Kings run rate very effectively. The Titans bowlers kept taking wickets until they bowled the Kings out on the last ball of the innings, when they had 142 runs on the board. Top bowler was Sai Kishore who picked up 4 wickets for 33 runs in his 4 over spell.
The Titans started off the batting going at a steady rate, however, the wickets began to drop after the 3rd over had past, putting them under slight pressure. In the end they managed to stabilise and score enough runs to claim victory over the Kings by 3 wickets with 5 balls remaining. Top batsman was Rahul Tewatia who scored 36 runs off 18 balls.
