There are 4 DSTV Premiership matches taking place on Wednesday and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.
Chippa United v Cape Town Spurs – Click here to bet
Chippa United are currently 14th on the log with just 1 win in their last 5 starts. Their last home game was back in early March when they beat Richards Bay 3-0 and they have only lost 1 of their last 5 home matches.
Cape Town Spurs are bottom of the log and went down 1-0 at home to Swallows in their last start. Their last 2 away matches have been 1-1 draws at Stellenbosch and Orlando Pirates, both games where they started massive underdogs and although they have yet to win on the road this season they have drawn their last 3.
Head-to-Head
Chippa United edged Cape Town Spurs 1-0 on the road in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
Both of these sides are battling towards the wrong end of the table, but Chippa United should be too strong and I am going to back them to get the 3 points.
Suggested Bet: Chippa United win at 9/10

Golden Arrows v SuperSport United – Click here to bet
Golden Arrows are currently 8th on the log and they broke a 3 match losing run with back-to-back victories at home to Richards Bay and away to Polokwane. That 2-1 win over Richards Bay broke a 5 match losing run at home for Arrows.
SuperSport United are 6th on the log and they are without a win in their last 5 matches and they have drawn their last 4 including a 1-1 draw at Mamelodi Sundowns last time out. 7 of their last 8 matches this season have seen both teams find the back of the net and their last 4 games have all finished in 1-1 draws.
Head-to-Head
Arrows beat SuperSport United 3-0 away in the reverse fixture and last season they also won this fixture 2-1.
Arrows are 9/4 with the draw priced at 2/1 and SuperSport are 27/20, but it is the goal markets that catch my attention here and I am going to bet that we get 3 goals or more at 31/20 as this bet would have arrived in the last 6 head-to-head meetings between the sides in all competitions.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 31/20
An alternative bet based on SuperSport’s recent results is “Both teams to score, yes, at 11/10”.
Swallows v Orlando Pirates – Click here to bet
Swallows are currently 13th on the log and got a much needed win last time out when they beat Cape Town Spurs 1-0 on the road. That broke a run of 11 matches without a victory in the League.
Orlando Pirates are 4th on the log, they are coming off a 2-1 loss to Sekhukhune United away last time out. They had been in good form before that and were on a 4 match unbeaten run which included at 3-2 home win over Kaizer Chiefs.
Pirates won the reverse fixture 2-0 earlier this season and last season, Pirates did the double over Swallows including winning 4-1 on the road (they don’t have far to travel given it is a Soweto Derby).
Swallows are really struggling and it is not surprising to see them trading at 4/1 which is not big enough to tempt me and I am going to go for Pirates with a solid bet.
Suggested Bet: Pirates win at 15/20
TS Galaxy v Royal AM – Click here to bet
TS Galaxy are currently 9th on the log with 3 wins in their last 5 starts. They beat AmaZulu 2-0 at home last time out, a game where they started 14/10 favourites and prior to that played out a goalless draw away at Richards Bay.
Royal AM are 12th on the log and they have lost 2 of their last 3, including going down 3-0 away to Stellenbosch last time out.
TS Galaxy have won their last 4 matches in a row in front of their own fans, while Royal AM have lost 3 out of 4 on the road.
Head-to-Head
Earlier this season Royal AM edged the reverse fixture 1-0 at home and last season both matches ended in draws.
TS Galaxy are 4/6 for the win which is just too short for my pocket and given they have only conceded 5 goals in 10 home matches this season, I am going to be backing them to keep a clean sheet.
Suggested Bet: Royal AM, Total Goals under 0.5 at 17/20
