As the 6 Nations finishes, the URC is back in full flight with a number of matches taking place this weekend. We will take a look at 4 of Saturday’s matches from a betting angle.
Irish side Leinster are still the favourite to win the URC at 1.53, despite never having won the championship although finishing first in the league each season. The Blue Bulls have jumped up to second favourites, trading at 7.50 while third favourites, Munster, are trading at 8.00.

Sharks v Ulster – Click here to bet
The Sharks are still at the bottom of the table, having won only one of the 11 matches they have played this season in the URC. Their sole victory came against the Dragons away from home earlier this year.
Ulster is currently in 5th place on the table with 34 points, trailing Leinster by 10 points. They have played 11 matches this season, winning 7 and losing 4, with a points difference of 30.
The last time these two clubs met in the URC was in February last year, with Ulster winning 31-24 at Kingspan. Ulster is the favourite to win the upcoming match, trading at 1.70, while the Sharks are trading at 2.45.
The Sharks have little other than pride to play for and I think Ulster can beat the handicap.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Ulster [-2.5] at 1.90
Stormers v Edinburgh – Click here to bet
The Stormers are currently in 9th place on the table and will need to push hard if they want to secure a spot in the quarter-finals. They have 30 points after winning 6 out of their 11 matches this season.
Edinburgh, on the other hand, is sitting in 4th place on the table with 34 points. They have won 8 out of their 11 matches so far this season, with their 3 losses coming against Leinster, Ulster and Benetton – three of the top teams this season.
In their last encounter during last year’s URC, the Stormers emerged victorious with a 34-18 win in Cape Town.
The Stormers are heavy favourites to win this upcoming match, with odds at 1.16, while Edinburgh is trading at 6.50.
While the Stormers are expected to win, Edinburgh’s strong performances this season indicate that they will put up a tough fight.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Edinburgh [+12.5] at 1.91
Connacht v Lions – Click here to bet
Connacht is currently in 7th place on the table, the lowest of any Irish side, with 33 points. They have played 11 matches, winning 7 and losing 4, resulting in a points difference of 20.
The Lions are in 11th place on the table, with 5 wins and 6 losses from their 11 matches this season.
In their last encounter, Connacht travelled to Johannesburg where they secured a 30-33 victory.
Connacht is the favourite to win the upcoming match, with odds at 1.30, while the Lions are trading at 4.00.
Connacht is expected to be too strong for the Lions in Galway and should secure a comfortable win.
Suggested bet: Handicap, Connacht [-8.5] at 1.95.
Dragons v Bulls – Click here to bet
The Dragons are currently second to last on the table with 11 points, just 1 point ahead of the Sharks. They have won only 2 of their 11 matches so far this season.
The Bulls, on the other hand, are second on the table with 44 points, just 4 points behind the top side Leinster. They have won 8 out of their 11 matches this season and have also progressed through the group stages of the Champions Cup.
In last year’s URC fixture between the two sides, the Bulls emerged victorious with a 29-14 win away from home.
The Bulls are heavy favourites to win the upcoming match, with odds at 1.15, while the Dragons are trading at 7.00.
The Bulls are expected to comfortably win the match despite playing away from home.
Suggested bet: Handicap, Bulls [-13.5] at 1.95.
