ASTON VILLA v TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR– Click here to bet
Aston Villa is currently 4th on the table and aims to continue their impressive run this Sunday. They enter this fixture on the back of a goalless draw away to Ajax in Europe. In the EPL, the Villains will be chasing their fourth consecutive win this weekend, having defeated Luton 3-2 in their last outing. Home stats showcase the superb work of head coach Unai Emery at Villa, with ten wins, one draw, just two losses, and an average of 2.69 goals from the hosts thus far.
Tottenham is currently 5th on the table and will arrive at Villa Park on the back of a 3-1 win over Palace last weekend. Overall form has been good, securing three wins and one draw in their last five Premier League appearances. On their travels, the final outcome has not fared as well, despite averaging 2.2 goals in their last five away appearances. They have only one win and three draws to show for their efforts.
In the reverse fixture, Aston Villa won 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this season.
This should be a cracking encounter between two teams that generally don’t hold back. Spurs have made it a habit of conceding first, then clawing themselves back into contention, a trend witnessed in their last three outings. Having looked at the markets and pricing, a chance is taken on Villa to find the back of the net first.
Recommended Bet: Team To Score 1st Goal: Aston Villa at 9/10
WEST HAM v BURNLEY– Click here to bet
West Ham, currently 7th on the table, will host Burnley this Sunday. Despite a 1-0 loss to Freiburg on Thursday evening, the Hammers enter the Premiership in good spirits. Domestically, they have turned a corner, securing back-to-back wins after enduring three consecutive losses. Their recent home form has been decent, with two wins and two draws, averaging 1.4 goals per game in their last five league appearances.
Burnley is currently 19th on the table and will have to make drastic changes if they are to improve in the league, having suffered seven losses in their last nine EPL outings, reflecting a very dark cloud hanging over them. They are currently on a four-game losing streak away from home, highlighting a grim outlook for the Clarets. During this period, they have averaged just one goal and conceded three per game in the league.
In the reverse fixture, West Ham won 2-1 at Turf Moor earlier this season.
Burnley looks destined for the drop given how little they have shown in terms of progression. West Ham enters this game with momentum behind them, having scored seven goals in their last two Premier League games. The Clarets might be in for yet another challenging day, given their defensive reputation away from home.
Recommended Bet: Result And Totals, West Ham And Over 2.5 at 11/8
BRIGHTON v NOTTINGHAM FOREST – Click here to bet
Brighton is currently 9th in the table and welcomes Forest following a midweek 4-0 thrashing away to Roma. The Seagulls have faced recent struggles on the domestic front, enduring back-to-back losses in all competitions, resulting in one win, a draw, and three losses in their last five appearances. However, at home, they have showcased their quality and are currently on a twelve-game unbeaten run with six wins and six draws, averaging 1.83 goals per game.
Nottingham Forest, currently 17th in the table with just four points separating them from the bottom three, visit the Amex Stadium knowing they have their work cut out for them. Form-wise, they go into this encounter on a three-match losing streak in all competitions. On the road, they have shown mixed results, obtaining 5 points from a possible 15 in their last five league appearances, despite averaging 1.8 goals in the same number of games.
Brighton previously beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 in the reverse fixture earlier this season, following a 0-0 draw in this fixture last season.
Brighton will see this fixture as an opportunity to return to winning ways domestically, hoping to reignite their campaign. Meanwhile, Forest aims to avoid dropping more points, considering their proximity to the relegation zone. Given their earlier victory in the reverse fixture and a dominant home record, backing the Seagulls looks like the way to go.
Recommended Bet: Full Time Result, Brighton at 8/10
LIVERPOOL v MAN CITY – Click here to bet
This Sunday could potentially be the turning point in terms of the title decider given the current positioning on the log. While a draw wouldn’t necessarily be the worst outcome, it would allow Arsenal the opportunity to overtake both. A loss for either side in this match would spell disaster, creating breathing space between them.
Liverpool is currently leading the table and enters this massive contest on the back of an impressive 5-1 win against Sparta Prague in Europe. On the Premier League front, their 1-0 result away to Nottingham Forest last weekend means they have now won four consecutive league games, with the Reds averaging an impressive three goals per game in the same span. Home form reflects a very similar trend, with four consecutive wins, one draw, and an average of 3.2 goals in their last five Premier League appearances at Anfield.
Manchester City is currently in second place on the table and enters this weekend on the back of a routine Champions League victory over Copenhagen on Wednesday, allowing them to progress 6-2 on aggregate. City claimed bragging rights last weekend in the Manchester derby, winning 3-1 at home against United and extending their win tally to three consecutive games in the Premier League. Away from home, they have been equally impressive and consistent, registering five consecutive league wins and averaging 2.4 goals in the process.
In the reverse fixture, the game finished 1-1 at the Etihad Stadium this season.
Given the magnitude and the fine lines between the two teams heading into Sunday, neither side can really afford to lose. Both teams boast an impressive array of talent at their disposal, and I hope we see a lot of that on display this Sunday. Many will be expecting fireworks, and I’m all for a champagne performance; just don’t be surprised if the end result resembles flat beer. I fancy a score draw here.
Recommended Bet: Result And Both Teams To Score, Draw and Yes at 33/10
