Italy v Scotland – Click here to bet
Italy nearly pulled off one of the biggest 6 Nations upsets in recent times. They had a penalty in the last play of the game to beat France away from home. However, the pressure of the shot clock caused Paolo Garbisi to rush his kick, hitting the post and ending the match in a draw. Their match against Ireland didn’t go as planned, losing 36-0 in Dublin and in the first round, they managed to take England all the way, losing by 3 points.
Scotland pulled off yet another impressive performance to win another Calcutta Cup, beating England 30-21. Their match against France ended with a controversial call by the TMO, a held-up call over the try line at the end of the match. If the try was given, they would still be on course to win a Grand Slam.
The last time Italy beat Scotland was in 2015 in Murrayfield. The last time the two sides faced in the 6 Nations, the match ended 26-14 in favour of Scotland.
Scotland should be too strong for Italy, but after some impressive performances by Italy, and the fact they are playing at home I can see a close encounter.
Scotland are favourites to win at 1.20 while Italy is trading at 5.50. The handicap at the time of writing is Italy (+11.5) at 1.95.
Suggested bet: Handicap, Italy (+11.5) at 1.95.
England vs. Ireland – Click here to bet
England has won 2 of their 3 matches in this year’s competition. Their two wins came against Italy in the first round where they won 24-27 and against Wales in the second round where they won 16-14. Their one loss came in their most recent match against Scotland where they lost 30-21 at Murrayfield.
Ireland has been nothing short of perfect, winning 3 of 3 matches all with bonus points. Their points difference is 81 while the next closest is Scotland on 6. Their first match was a brilliant 17-38 win against France in France. They followed up that performance with a 36-0 win against Italy and then a 31-7 dismantling of Wales.
Ireland has won the last 4 encounters with England. The last time the two sides met in Twickenham, Ireland came out victorious winning the match 15-32.
Ireland will travel to Twickenham knowing if they win, they will have the longest winning streak in 6 Nations history (currently held by England), knowing this will surely give them the edge needed to roll over England.
Ireland are favourites to win at 1.18 while England is trading at 6.00. The handicap at the time of writing is Ireland (-11.5) at 1.85.
Suggested bet: Handicap, Ireland (-11.5) at 1.85.
SUNDAY
Wales v France – Click here to bet
Wales has had a disappointing 6 Nations, winning none of their three matches. In the first round, they nearly came back in the second half to beat Scotland, losing the match by 1 point. They followed up that performance with a 16-14 loss to England. Their last result was a 31-7 loss to Ireland in the Aviva.
France has not been what people have come to expect of them in recent times. Their first match was a heavy 17-38 loss to Ireland at home. They then went on to just beat Scotland by 4 points in a match that could have gone either way. They then hosted Italy at home and nearly lost the match in the last part of the game were it not for the right-hand post denying a late penalty attempt.
The last time Wales beat France was in the 2019 World Cup in Japan. France has gone on to beat Wales 5 times since that, home and away. The last result was a 41-28 win for France at home and the last time the two sides faced in Cardiff, France just came out on top, winning the match 9-13.
The match is tough to call, but France should just come out on top although I think Wales can beat the handicap.
France are favourites to win at 1.40 while Wales is trading at 3.38. The handicap at the time of writing is Wales (+6.5) at 1.90.
Suggested bet: Handicap, Wales (+6.5) at 1.90.
