PAARL ROYALS
The Paarl Royals most recent game took place on Sunday when they clashed with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape away in Gqeberha at St George’s Park. The toss finally went the way of the Royals and they elected to bat first. They battled for momentum from the start, losing wickets relatively consistently as the game went on and struggled to get any big partnerships going. They eventually reached a total of 159/7 after their 20 overs with Jos Buttler topping the batting with 38 runs off 22 balls.
The Royals put the Sunrisers under some pressure in the powerplay and although rain delayed the match for a while, the Sunrisers managed to build some decent partnerships and they reached the total, beating the Royals by 5 wickets with 1 ball to spare. Top bowler was Andile Phehlukwayo who took 3 wickets for 33 runs in his 4 overs.
JOBURG SUPER KINGS
The Joburg Super Kings took on the Durban Super Giants on Saturday the 3rd of February at Wanderers Cricket Stadium in Johannesburg, where they won the toss and elected to field first. It was a match they had to win in order to qualify.
The Super Kings started well with ball in hand, putting the opponents under pressure in the powerplay picking up 3 wickets. They then struggled to break up a big middle order partnership and with only a few more wickets falling in the innings the Super Giants reached a total of 203/6. Top bowler was Lizaad Williams who took 3 wickets for 47 runs in his 4 over spell.
The Super Kings openers put up a 102-run partnership to kick start the chase, reaching the halfway mark at the end of the 8th over and taking a lot of pressure off the other batsmen in the line-up. They then slowed down, losing a few wickets but managed to grab the win with 1 ball remaining, winning the match by 7 wickets over the Super Giants. Top batsman was Faf Du Plessis who scored 57 off 29 balls.

Paarl Royals 8/10
Joburg Super Kings 11/10
Suggested Bet: Joburg Super Kings total sixes – over 6.5 at 17/20
This side has some very capable hitters and they have been looking in much better form as of late and I am backing them to give the Wanderers crowd some catching practise.
Suggested Bet: David Miller total fours – over 2.5 at 14/10
Miller has not been on his best form but he has always been a man for the big stage and I am backing him for a big knock and hopefully he squeezes some 4’s amongst the 6s.
