Morocco became the first African side to make the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar and they have been priced as favourites here at 5/1 to win the Title. Senegal the defending AFCON Champions are a point behind them at 6/1 with hosts Ivory Coast priced at 13/2. Algeria look to have the softest group amongst the favourites are 7/1 with Egypt, losing finalists to Senegal, priced at 17/2.
Nigeria are 9/1 and while they can never be written off I haven’t been impressed with their form coming into the Tournament and will be looking to oppose them.
You can get 10/1 and better about the balance.
I was very impressed with Morocco in the World Cup, I am happy to take a bit of the 5/1 that they win the tournament.
Suggested Bet: Morocco win at 5/1

OTHER LONG-TERM BETS
I really fancy the Ivory Coast at 5/6 and Egypt to win Groups A and B respectively, the double works out at around 23/10.
SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa are outsiders to win this Tournament at 40/1, but they seem like a more settled unit than they have been in the past and I think they can surprise in AFCON 2024. They are in Group E with Tunisia, Mali and Namibia and at 11/2 I think they are worth a punt to win the group.
Suggested Bet: South Africa to win Group E at 11/2
Back to Group B and while Egypt employed a defensive strategy in the last AFCON I am expecting more goals from them in this one. Their goal spread is 4.5 with over 4.5 priced a bit short for me at 8/11, but I will look to throw that into a multiple or two.
Algeria are 1/3 to win Group D and I expect them to do so fairly comfortably. Burkina Faso are expected to chase them home, but I think that Angola have a chance of sneaking into that runner up spot.
Suggested Bet: Straight forecast Group D 1-2, Algeria / Angola at 9/2
TOP GOAL SCORER
There is plenty of quality on offer in this Tournament and this can be evidenced when looking at the Top Goal Scorer betting. Liverpool’s Mo Salah is the 7/1 favourite ahead of Victor Osimhen at 8/1 and you can get 11/1 and better the balance.
I actually think the 7/1 is quite a good price about Salah as I expect Egypt to get plenty of goals and to go deep in the Tournament.
Suggested Bet: Top Goal Score, Mo Salah at 7/1
