This week the PGA tour travels to Hawaii for the Sony Open which will be played at Waialae Country Club from Thursday to Sunday.
THE COURSE
Located on the island of Honolulu, Waialae Country Club is a short par 70 course that has changed over the past few years from a tight, accuracy demanding course to one that allows room for error for the big hitters. Waialae is an attackable course where low scoring is possible, however, if the winds roll through the course becomes one that challenges the best of golfers.

Selections:
Brian Harman at 22/1
The 2023 Open winner has found form recently finishing with two top-tens in his last 3 starts on the tour. Waialae is no stranger to Harman with only 1 missed cut in since 2014 and four top twenty finishes. The straight-hitting lefty has proven himself in the windy condition of the Open and will be a fierce challenger in Hawaii if the wind is to pick up.
Chris Kirk at 33/1
Last week’s Sentry winner will be looking to make it back-to-back wins on the tour. Kirk led going into Sunday and held out his lead shooting a round of eight under to hold off Sahith Theegala. Kirk has finished in the top three on three occasions at Waialae (third place – in 2023, runner up – 2021, runner-up – 2014). The American will undoubtedly be looking to get his hands on the Sony Open.
Sahith Theegala at 33/1
Theegala made a late surge at last week’s Sentry to put pressure on Chris Kirk who beat him by one shot. He will be looking to bring that form to Honolulu and add another PGA Tour title to his name. The youngster won his first PGA Tour victory last year at the Fortinet Championship proving he is good enough for the tour. Currently ranked 20th in the world, Theegala will want to show why he is one of the best golfers in the world.
Matt Wallace at 90/1
The four-time European Tour winner Matt Wallace will want to put his name up on the leaderboard. The English golfer has not yet won on American soil with his one PGA Tour victory coming last year at the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic. Wallace has had two top-15 finishes in his last three starts. If his game is hot he can shoot low.
