The Eastern Cape Sunrisers take on the Joburg Super Kings in the 1st match of the 2024 SA20 at St Georges Park Gqeberha on Wednesday and we take a look at the betting and suggest a couple of bets in the match.

The Sunrisers finished 3rd on the table last season recovering from a slow start which saw them lose their 1st 2 matches. They then beat the Super Kings in Joburg in a high scoring match in the semi’s before winning the final against the Capitals at Centurion chasing down 136 for victory in a low scoring game.
A couple of players to watch include Marco Jansen with bat and ball and Aiden Markram who had an excellent tournament last year picking up the Player of the Season award.
JOBURG SUPER KINGS
The Super Kings finished strongly in the league last season with 4 wins and a no result in their last 5 matches. It pushed them to 2nd on the log and as mentioned above they were beaten by the Sunrisers in their home semifinal. Faf Du Plessis was the 2nd highest run scorer with Gerald Coetzee 3rd in the wickets log.
HEAD TO HEAD
The Super Kings won this fixture by 5 wickets last season chasing down 128 for victory and they also won the reverse fixture in Joburg defending 160 runs.
The Sunrisers had the last laugh with their semifinal win.

I agree with the bookies that there is not much between these sides and will look to some of the other betting markets on offer.
Suggested Bet: Harmer Top Sunrisers Bowler at 27/10
St Georges is generally a good wicket for spin and in this fixture last season Phangiso got 4 wickets for the Kings and Van der Merwe 2 wickets for the Sunrisers. I am expecting the batsmen to come hard at Harmer and that is when wickets fall.
Suggested Bet: Hendricks under 22.5 runs at 17/20
He really battled to get going at this ground in the recent ODI and he won’t have the luxury of time to play himself in.
