The EFL Cup has reached the semi-final stage and we take a look at the first 2 matches taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
TUESDAY
Middlesbrough v Chelsea – Click here to bet
Middlesbrough ply their trade in the Championship where they are currently sitting in 12th position having lost 2 of their last 3 matches. They were in EFL Cup action on the weekend where they lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa and all 5 of the EFL Cup victories to date have come on the road, most recently beating Port Vale 3-0 in the quarter-finals.
Chelsea have won 3 of their last 4 matches in the EPL and currently sit 10th on the log and they had no problems seeing off Preston 4-0 in the 3rd Round of the EFL Cup on the weekend. They required penalties to beat Newcastle when playing at home in the quarter-finals and the other 3 games were all at home and included wins over Blackburn and EPL side, Brighton.
These sides last met in the FA Cup in 2022 with Chelsea winning 2-0 away.
Middlesbrough are 9/2 to win the match with the draw 7/2 and Chelsea priced at 6/10.
I expect Chelsea to win the game, but Middlesbrough have been in free scoring mood in this competition so far in front of their own home fans and I am expecting them to put on a good show and will bet that we get 4 goals or more in the game.
Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 goals at 15/10

WEDNESDAY
Liverpool v Fulham – Click here to bet
Both of these sides play in the EPL where Liverpool have moved to the top of the table and Fulham currently sit 13th.
Liverpool were in FA Cup action on the weekend away to Arsenal and after a goalless first-half, they scored 2 goals in the second-half to book their spot in the 4th Round. Liverpool are undefeated in 6 games across all competitions. They met West Ham at home in the quarter-finals, winning 5/1 and prior to that beat Bournemouth on the road and Leicester at home. Both teams have found the back of the net in all 3 Liverpool matches.
Fulham beat Rotherham 1-0 in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Their last League game was a 2-1 home win over Arsenal. In the EFL Cup, they beat Tottenham on penalties before seeing off Norwich, both games at home and in the Round of 16 they beat Ipswich 3-1 away before getting past Everton on penalties at Everton. Both teams have also found the back of the net in all 4 Fulham matches.
The last meeting between these sides was in the Premier League back in December where it was Liverpool winning 4-3 at home.
Liverpool are 37/100 with the draw 9/2 and Fulham priced at 13/2.
Liverpool have a hectic schedule at the moment and I have the feeling that this could be their undoing. They are worthy favourites, but I am going to back Fulham to get either a draw or a victory at Anfield.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Fulham +0.5 goals at 85/40
