In their most recent game against South Africa, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first. South Africa quickly gained the upper hand by scoring runs quickly and not losing any wickets. New Zealand managed to take only four wickets throughout the innings, with Tim Southee being the sole bowler to take more than one wicket. South Africa posted a total of 357 runs within the allotted 50 overs.
New Zealand’s batting performance was disappointing, losing wickets at regular intervals, which allowed South Africa to maintain the upper hand. The pressure told on New Zealand’s batsmen, and they failed to build any momentum getting bowled out for only 167 runs in the 36th over, resulting in their third loss of the tournament. Glenn Phillips top scored with 60 in the middle order at a strike rate of 120.

PAKISTAN
In the seven games Pakistan has played so far, they have won three and lost four, accumulating six points and currently placing fifth on the table. They are 35/1 to win the tournament and this is a must-win game for them.
In their recent match against Bangladesh, Pakistan lost the toss and had to bowl first. They gained momentum early, taking three wickets within the first ten overs, which increased pressure on the opposition. Pakistan restricted Bangladesh to 204 runs before bowling them out in the 46th over. Both Afridi and Wasim played crucial roles, each taking three wickets.
Pakistan’s strong opening partnership amassed 128 runs before losing their first wicket in the 21st over. They only lost three wickets in the innings and comfortably chased down the 204 runs in the 33rd over, with both Shafique and Zaman securing half-centuries.
