NEW ZEALAND

The Black Caps are sitting in 3rd on the log after winning 4 and losing 2 of their matches and they are trading at 6/1 to win the competition.

New Zealand faced Australia in their most recent game that was held on Saturday in Dharamsala. New Zealand won the toss and sent Australia in to bat first. The bowlers struggled to break a massive opening Australian partnership and the first wicket fell after 175 runs were scored at a rate of 9 an over. The wickets then began to fall more frequently until the bowlers claimed the last Australian wicket with 388 runs on the board in the final over. The best bowling figures were shown by Glenn Phillips who took 3 wickets for 37 runs in his 10 over spell, Trent Boult also managed to pick up 3 wickets in his 10 overs for a more costly 77 runs.

The opening New Zealand partnership put up a good effort before the first wicket fell after 61 runs, leaving the rest of the batsmen with a lot to do. Ravindra then scored a century, taking them closer to the win but in the end New Zealand ran out of overs and fell just short, losing the match by just 5 runs. Ravindra claimed top batsman with 116 runs off of 89 balls at a striker ate of 130.34.

SOUTH AFRICA

Proteas are currently in 2nd place in the Tournament after winning 5 of their 6 matches so far. They are into 7/2 to win the Tournament.

South Africa took on Pakistan on Friday in Chennai where Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The South African bowlers started well, taking a few Pakistani wickets before Pakistan got into the game and began to look more stable. The innings ended after 46.4 overs with Pakistan bowled out for 270 runs. The top bowler on the day was Shamsi who took 4 wickets for 60 runs in his 10 overs, an honourable mention also goes to Jansen who picked up 3 wickets for 43 runs at 4.78 runs an over.

The South African batsmen battled to get a solid partnership together early on but eventually, they were able to take some control of the game with Markram performing well until he threw his wicket away nearing the end, putting pressure on the tail. South Africa were able to edge the win in the end, getting up by 1 wicket with 16 balls remaining. Star batsman was Markram who scored a brilliant 91 runs off 93 deliveries.

New Zealand (23/20)

South Africa (4/6)

HEAD-TO-HEAD

These teams have not met in ODI format since they clashed at the 2019 Cricket World Cup, where New Zealand won by 4 wickets.

Suggested Bet: Batsman Total Match Sixes – Aidan Markram over 0.5 at 11/10

Markram hit 3 sixes in the last game, and he started looking for more aggressive shots shortly before he went out If he spends a few overs at the crease I believe that he will put at least one ball over the boundary.

Suggested Bet: Top New Zealand Bowler – Lockie Ferguson at 26/10

Ferguson has put in some good performances in this World Cup and has picked up a lot of wickets. The South Africans will come hard at him and I am hoping that luck runs his way. .
