Tuesday’s second match sees Pakistan take on Sri Lanka in Hyderabad and we suggest a couple of bets on the game.

PAKISTAN
Pakistan played the Netherlands in their opening game and after losing the toss they were sent into bat. They lost their first 3 wickets with just 38 runs before Mohammad Rizwan with 68 at a strike rate of 90 and Saud Shakeel with 68 at a strike rate of 130 got them back on track and they ultimately scored 286 all out after 49 overs.
The Netherlands started decently until Hasan Ali struck to get rid of Max O’Dowd with the score on 28 with just 1 ball left in the Power Play. They were never up with the run rate and were eventually bowled out for 205 with 9 overs remaining. All of the Pakistani bowlers got amongst the wickets, but the pick was surely Haris Rauf with his 3 for 43 off 9 overs in what was a fired up display of fast bowling. Hasan Ali also got more than one wicket getting 2 for 33 off his 7 overs.
SRI LANKA
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first in Delhi against South Africa and they struck early dismissing South African Captain, Temba Bavuma for 8 with the score on 10 in the second over. The next wicket only fell at 214 though and the South Africans put on 3 centuries reaching 428 for 5 in their 50 overs. All of the Sri Lankans went for runs and Dilshan Madushanka got the most wickets, 2 for 86 off his 10 although arguably the pick of the bowlers was Dasun Shanaka who had 6 overs at a run rate of 6 an over without getting a wicket.
Sri Lanka lost an early wicket, but Kusal Mendis did his best to keep up with the run rate scoring 76 off 42 balls. There was also a 79 off 65 balls from Charith Asalanka and a 68 off 62 balls from Dasun Shanaka as Sri Lanka made a brave fist of the chase, but were ultimately bowled out for 326 to lose by 102 runs.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
These sides met in the middle of September in the Asia Cup with Sri Lanka winning by 2 wickets. Pakistan had previously hosted Sri Lanka in a 2 match series in 2019 with Pakistan winning both games. The Asian Cup victory by Sri Lanka broke a run of 8 successive Pakistan victories in ODI’s.

Suggested Bet: Sri Lanka Total at First Dismissal under 26.5 runs at 17/20
Sri Lanka’s openers could only contribute 7 runs between them in their first match and this is an area where I think they have some problems and I am going to try and exploit this by betting that they get 26 runs or less as a first wicket partnership.
Top Pakistan Batsman: Babar Azam at 31/20
Azam could only muster 5 runs in the first match and it is very unusual for him to fail twice in a row. He is a quality batsman and I am backing him to bounce back strongly.
