FRIDAY
Highlanders v Reds – Click here to bet
The Highlanders currently sit 9th on the table with 4 wins and 8 defeats in their opening 12 games and they will be desperate for a 5 point haul here to keep them in some sort of playoff contention. They were pushed hard at home by the Rebels last week winning 20-17 and the week before that were well beaten by the Brumbies on the road.
The Reds are 7th on the log and can put a nail in the Highlanders coffin with a victory here. They went down by 19 points at home to the Blues last week, but their last away game was a 25-22 win over the Chiefs in New Zealand.
Handicap: Highlanders -6.5
I think we are in for a tight game here with the home team edging it.
Suggested Bet: Winning Margin, Highlanders under 12.5 points at 18/10
Rebels v Western Force – Click here to bet
The Rebels are 2nd from bottom of the log with 3 wins and 9 defeats in their 12 matches. If they are to make the last 8 they would really need other results to go their way as well as delivering bonus point wins in their remaining matches. Last week they put up a brave fight going down by 3 points on the road to the Highlanders and their last home game was a 7 point defeat to the Brumbies.
The Force are currently 8th on the log in the final qualifying position. They have won 5 of 12 matches this season including a 15 point win over a depleted Brumbies side in Perth last week. The Forces problem has been getting wins on the road.
Handicap: Rebels -6.5
Australian Derbies have tended to be high scoring this season, but I have a feeling that this could turn into a scrappy affair and I am betting that we get less than 60 points in the game.
Suggested Bet: Under 59.5 points at 10/11

SATURDAY
Fijian Drua v Moana Pasifika – Click here to bet
The Drua are 10th on the log with 4 wins and 8 defeats in 12 matches. They went down by 14 points on the road to the Waratahs last weekend and the week before that were well beaten by the Force in Perth. They have pulled off some great results at home though including beating the Crusaders and Hurricanes.
Pasifika are bottom of the log without a victory in their 12 games. They were well backed last week when they hosted the Crusaders in Auckland, but were beaten by 34 points. The week before that they were hammered by 49 on the road to the Hurricanes.
Handicap: Fijian Drua -14.5
These sides met in the opening weekend of the competition with the Drua coming out 36-34 victors and I expect another high scoring encounter here.
Suggested Bet: Over 63.5 points at 9/10
Crusaders v Waratahs – Click here to bet
The Crusaders have moved to 2nd spot on the log, a position they will be looking to defend. They made a number of changes for last week’s clash against Moana Pasifika, but were still too strong winning 41-7 and their last home game was a 50-3 win over the Blues in a tight New Zealand Derby.
The Waratahs are 6th on the log and they have won their last 4 matches in a row including beating the Drua 32-18 at home last week. Their last away game was a 32-24 defeat of the Reds in Brisbane.
Handicap: Crusaders -24.5
This is a big handicap, but given the Waratahs are more focused on their home game against Moana Pasifika last week, I think the Crusaders are going to run riot.
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Crusaders -24.5 at 9/10
Blues v Hurricanes – Click here to bet
The Blues are 4th on the log with 8 wins and 4 defeats in their 12 matches. They were too strong for the Reds away last week winning 45-26, but they had gone down by 12 points in a low scoring encounter to the Crusaders the week before and their last home game was a 1 point victory over Moana Pasifika.
The Hurricanes are 5th on the log and can move ahead of the Blues with a victory here. They fought hard, but went down 23-12 away to the Chiefs last week and the week before that had beaten Moana Pasifika 71-22 at home.
Handicap: Blues -5.5
This should be a tight game and I think home ground advantage will swing it for the Blues and I am backing them to win it but by 12 points or less.
Suggested Bet: Winning Margin, Blues under 12.5 at 16/10
Brumbies v Chiefs – Click here to bet
The Brumbies are 3rd on the log after a disappointing 34-19 defeat away to the Force last week. They had gambled by resting players, a move which backfired and they will be looking to come out firing this week against a Chiefs side that is 8 points clear at the top of the table and put the shock home defeat to the Reds behind them with an 11 point win over the Hurricanes last week.
Handicap: Brumbies +3.5
This should be a cracking match and I actually think that the Brumbies can win it and will take the 15/10 that they do just that.
