There are 4 DSTV Premiership matches taking place over Friday and Saturday and we suggest a bet in each of them.
Let’s start with a look at the betting for who is going to finish second behind Mamelodi Sundowns. Pirates are currently priced at 11/10 with SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs 22/10 and you can get 175/1 about Cape Town City.

FRIDAY
Maritzburg United v Richards Bay – Click here to bet
Maritzburg United are currently bottom of the table and in a desperate need of points. They have only won 1 of their last 8 matches suffering 6 defeats and a draw in that time. They lost 1-0 away to Sekhukhune last time out and have only won 3 matches at home all season.
Richards Bay are 9th on the table and have only won 1 of their last 10 matches and have lost their last 7 on the trot, most recently going down 1-0 at home to Golden Arrows.
These sides played to a goalless draw earlier this season and I wouldn’t be surprised to see something similar, but I am going to give Maritzburg the edge as they should be the more desperate of two teams in poor form.
Suggested Bet: Maritzburg United win at 16/10

SATURDAY
Orlando Pirates v Cape Town City – Click here to bet
Orlando Pirates are currently 3rd on the log and they have won 4 matches in succession including beating Chippa United 2-0 on the road last time out. They face a Cape Town City side that is sitting 5th and undefeated in their last 6 games although unfortunately their last 3 games have all been draws, most recently 2-2 at home to AmaZulu.
Pirates have only lost 3 times at home in 12 matches this season and Cape Town City have only won 3 of their 12 matches on the road. It is that poor away form that has me leaning to an Orlando Pirates victory here.
Suggested Bet: Pirates win at 19/20
TS Galaxy v Royal AM – Click here to bet
TS Galaxy are currently sitting 10th on the log, but they suffered back-to-back defeats away at SuperSport and at home to Maritzburg United. They face a Royal AM side sitting 8th and Royal AM recently broke a two match losing streak when they beat Stellenbosch 3-1 at home.
The stat that jumps off the page looking at recent Royal AM results is that both teams have found the back of the net in 6 of their last 7 matches and over 3.5 goal backers would have collected profits in their last 3.
I am faced with two choices here, both teams to score, yes, at 21/20, but I am not convinced with the value there and I am going to stick my neck out and go with over 2.5 goals at 14/10.
Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 14/10
Stellenbosch v Swallows – Click here to bet
Stellenbosch are currently 11th on the log, but they are coming off back-to-back away defeats to Royal AM and Kaizer Chiefs. Their last home game though was a 2-0 victory over AmaZulu and overall at home this season they have won 4, drawn 4 and lost 4 of their 12 matches. They have though taken 7 points from the last 9 they have played for at home.
Swallows are hovering just above the relegation zone and they are coming off a home draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, with the game finishing goalless and a 1-0 victory away at AmaZulu. Goals have been hard to come by in Swallows matches and there has only been 2 in total in their last 3 games.
Stellenbosch beat Swallows 2-1 on the road last time out and last season both fixtures finished 1-1 and that is where I am heading for a bet on a game where I don’t fancy anything very strongly.
Suggested Bet: Correct Score, 1-1 at 9/2
