Bangladesh take on the Netherlands in Hobart on Monday in a Super 12 T20 World Cup fixture and we take a look at the game from a betting angle.
Bangladesh’s final warm-up match against South Africa was unfortunately abandoned without a ball been bowled. Prior to that they played Afghanistan in a warm-up, but chasing 161 for victory could only muster 98 for 9 in their 20 overs.
The Netherlands have had to come through the group stages to book their spot in the Super 12. They opened their group stages with a 3 wicket victory over UAE who had batted first scoring 111 for 8, but the Netherlands chasing the runs down with just 1 ball to spare. They then beat Namibia by 5 wickets chasing the 122 required for victory with 3 balls in hand and they were beaten in their final match by Sri Lanka going down by 16 runs reaching 146 for 9 in 20 overs while chasing 163 for victory.
These sides have met each other three times in T20 action with Bangladesh winning twice and Netherlands once.
It would be a huge upset if Netherlands were to beat Bangladesh, but I certainly won’t be backing Bangladesh at 3/10 given their current form.

Bangladesh 3/10
Netherlands 47/2
Suggested Bet: Pre-match Handicap, Netherlands +5.5 wickets +18.5 runs at 8/11
I think the Netherlands are more than capable of giving a good account of themselves here and while I am stopping short of backing them to win the game, I am going to punt them on the handicap.
Suggested Bet: Netherlands Top Batter, Max O’Dowd at 51/20
I was impressed with O’Dowd with his unbeaten 71 off 53 balls in a losing effort against Sri Lanka. He looks a classy player and I am backing him to come out on top against his teammates in this Netherlands batting line-up.
